I'm totally not insulted. I use this system at work because I don't need to do much with it, other than access those sites. My home setup is much newer.
I just don't have extra hardware lying around that's newer without rebuilding my home system and I don't really feel like spending the money...

I saw that post, but sadly it all looks Greek to me. I need more detailed instructions that whatever is there. I'm assuming those steps listed in post 1 have something to do with editing some sort of plist file, but I'm lost as to where to begin or what to do.
System runs with 10.10.5
I have no audio device listed in the system report.
I used easybeast with ALC885/889a selected.
Display works. Ethernet works. Hard drive visible on desktop and accessible.
I'm just missing the audio device and my DVD drive which is connected to the PATA connector on...
