Choosing a Compatible NVMe SSD for your macOS Boot Drive

Thanks for this thread. The time has finally come to replace the Samsung 970 EVO for my 2018 hack. I've been making do with the drive: tolerating the lethargic post-Monterey boot times, and over the past year or so, enduring periodic volume hash mismatch errors and some other seemingly random...

macOS Ventura is Now Available From the Mac App Store

It looks like it's complaining about IONVMeController in connection with shutdown. What OC version are you using?

macOS Ventura is Now Available From the Mac App Store

Started with macOS Monterey 12.6 base. Updated OpenCore 0.7.2 to 0.8.5; updated kexts to current versions. Unable to upgrade to Monterey 12.6.1: multiple attempts "failed to prepare the update." Successful upgrade to Ventura 13.0: single attempt, no exceptions. All appears to be working properly...

How-To Bluetooth 5.0 USB Dongle [guide]

Sorry to be late to the party, but happy to hear you were able to get your bluetooth up-and-running. I’m unable to verify at present, had you added MinVersion/MinDate entries as well?

How-To Bluetooth 5.0 USB Dongle [guide]

Hello and thank you for the reminder @OSX790. I've been meaning to post an update, but wanted to have something more concrete and substantial to report. To note, a couple of things have changed on my end: With regard to testing, I had ordered the Hideez dongle from eBay, but received one...

How-To Bluetooth 5.0 USB Dongle [guide]

@OSX790 Thank you for the link, I was not aware of this information. Per Dortania's Monterey notes, it looks like I need to: add BrcmPatchRAM3.kext add BrcmFirmwareData.kext add BlueToolFixup Since I am keeping Catalina as my daily driver, I have a test-install of Monterey on an external...

How-To Bluetooth 5.0 USB Dongle [guide]

BT400 is Mostly Working as described previously. But perhaps you are onto something... am I am missing a kext to enable full/reliable BT functionality with certain dongles? I followed Dortania's OpenCore Install Guide (which was excellent and thorough!), but it is always possible I overlooked...

Okay, thanks. I had some extra cash-back funds so I ordered two others as well, which claimed to have “Mac” compatibility.

How-To Bluetooth 5.0 USB Dongle [guide]

Howdy folks, I finally purchased both ASUS BT400 and BT500 dongles and wanted to provide an update on my BT experiences. I also have the LAIRD BT851 for quite a while, but was never able to get work while using Clover bootloader in Catalina. After switching to OpenCore it began working...

How-To Bluetooth 5.0 USB Dongle [guide]

Contemplating ordering both 400 and 500, and see what shakes loose. Not sure what's up with that screenshot... says model BT400 but claims BT5.0? Here is ASUS' product page for the BT400: https://www.asus.com/us/Networking-IoT-Servers/Adapters/All-series/USBBT400/

Thanks, happy to have a Plan B. As far as Airdrop and Handoff, I haven't gotten those working as of yet; just happy to have generally reliable BT functionality.
