    [Updated] Stork's Thunderbolt Build: i5-3570K | GA-Z77X-UP5-TH | GTX 760

Thanks, @Stork and @Shiitaki. In my case, I'm using the older-style AA battery-powered keyboard (A1314). Are some Apple keyboards or the GA-Z77X-UP5-TH motherboard just not capable of this? I went so far as to get a new PCIe interface with a 4-pin USB connector (V+/D-/D+/G) instead of the...

    [Updated] Stork's Thunderbolt Build: i5-3570K | GA-Z77X-UP5-TH | GTX 760

@Stork Thanks for your detailed build posts and updates. I noticed you're using an Apple wireless keyboard with your Thunderball build. I have a very similar daily driver build with near-perfect Mojave installation that has a BCM94360CD wireless card (Wifi + bluetooth 4) connected to a PCIe...

    Clover bootloader screen resolution

Brilliant! This worked like a charm for much higher resolutions in the bootloader screen. It looks much nicer, but I just bought a 3440x1440 widescreen and the bootloader screen doesn't fill all the way across across. But it does go to the native resolution when the OS loads. Anyway, maybe...

    Can't Update to 10.10.4

To get that error message, I just booted with -x and -v flags. Not sure if that's what did it, but that gave the error message, whereas before I got just the frozen screen ad you described. To clarify my previous post, even though iMessages worked, I went ahead and reinstalled FileNVRAM...

    Can't Update to 10.10.4

Great, glad it worked out for you. I got the 10.10.4 update installed as well after removing the FileNVRAM kext from /S/L/E. The unexpected thing is even after rebooting, iMessages still works fine. I'm wondering if FileNVRAM is no longer needed for iMessages/Facetime or if it will fail after...

    Can't Update to 10.10.4

For the record, I'm running this version of the NVRAM kext posted here (from 01-04-2015, 08:16 PM): http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/153259-filenvram-modded-os-x-yosemite-fix-imessage-using-chameleon-chimera.html.

    Can't Update to 10.10.4

Don't bother trying to install the update from another drive. I just tried it and it doesn't work. The installer forces you to install only over the actively booted OS for some reason.

    Can't Update to 10.10.4

Same problem here. But it's not just 10.10.4. Every Yosemite OS update so far has been a hassle on an otherwise perfect machine. And I've been running a hackintosh for a long time. I think this has to do with Yosemite updates trying to patch the actively running OS (in this case 10.10.3)...

    Yosemite sleep/wake problems.

It seems what people have posted in this thread may be different problems. If you have issues with a black screen (but initially responsive mouse pointer) followed shortly by a spinning beachball after waking from sleep, then check if you're running Little Snitch. In response to my previous...

    Yosemite sleep/wake problems.

Same Yosemite issue on Gigabyte Z77X-UP5TH with Chimera 4.0 (installed from Multibeast 7.0.0). Specifically, occasionally waking the machine from sleep I see the mouse pointer (and it moves) but the screen stays black. After some time, the pointer changes to a spinning beach ball. A hard...
