Sold all my Intel Macs and now fully using my Apple Silicon machines. Love the M1 MBP 13. Also looking forward to M3. Probably will get a Studio Max M3 when available.
Not sure what you mean, the last Intel Mac pro was released 2019. They won't update it for this year with an Intel processor. More likely it's an Apple Silicon M2 Ultra or higher.
The only upgrade I can see them allow in a Mac Pro over the studio is internal storage. I can't imagine they...

I will say this, I hope they do actually announce EOL of Intel support definitively as it needs to have a date vs speculation.
The next question they need to give a date on is when they want to remove Rosetta 2 (if they do.)
It's been known for a while there would be an "expiration" on building these due to transition to AS. Think of it as less "sad" and more showing Apple is stepping up their game and pushing their performance beyond what Intel can provide. The upgradibility in PCs is kind of a myth in modern era...
So so true!! Frankly, how much of that spec is even fully working in macOS anyway? I know we do a lot of maneuvering to make a hack work. I've never had any of my machines perform as nice as Linux on the same hardware. If it was supported by Apple the machines handled better. It became...
I ended up in the same boat. I was going to build something higher-end to get up to the AS performance. Then realized it's a full replacement. Bought an AS Mac instead. The upgradability of PCs is really not quite true. They move the socket and memory tech, etc. It's not really fully...
I've heard Apple only declined 11/14% vs 40% for the general PC market. Don't have a link handy but I never heard 40% from anywhere I'm paying attention to for Apple themselves.
It's funny a lot of talk of the Mac Pro. I've owned them and built hacks as alternatives. Over time the only thing I put in them was storage and cooling for the hacks. As of now, I struggle to think of why I'd buy one (Mac Pro), and what I'd put in it I can't already BTO with a Mac Studio.
