I use Inno3D and that works fine with no issues or workarounds.
I think most (if not all) cards will work, independent of manufacturer. If it works for one GTX1070 it should work for all of them.
did the same. Never had an installation this smooth. No kernel flags, no boot errors. Just install and go.
Just need to get audio going and I'm all set!
And ofcourse i just formatted my MacOS drive last month....
In doubt if i want to go through the hassle of reinstalling it. I'm getting quite used to Premiere Pro
Well i bit the bullet.
Formatte my OSX drives, and going full windows. Not being able to use FCP X hurts, but the transistion to Adobe Premiere is a lot easier now that they too have proxy media that can render in the background, and you can make selections from the preview. It's not there...
I'd love to switch.... But selecting multiple clips from a single file is annoying in Premiere. Thr scrub and selecting in and out points just goes quicker in FCPX.
As soon as they fix that or i find something to fix that (gopro quik/slice come close) i'll abandon fcp x and OSX
I'm also considering buying a used old videocard. I can't get hardware acceleration working on my iGPU and i do need that for FCP X. I can't wait forever on the 10x0 drivers.
I am in the same boat. Got a GTX1070. But you can use the iGPU in your processor.
Since you have the i7-6700 you can probably use the iGPU. This means you can boot using nv_disable=1 to disable the GTX1080.
You do need to connect your monitor(s) to the motherboard output, NOT the videocard...
I added PciAddr (why did i think i didn't need to add that). Rebooted and couldnt get into OSX anymore.
Tried all boot flags, no cigar.
Finally changed the IMEI to 0x0000000 and it booted again.
but i'm back to how it was. No hardware acceleration.
EDIT: Also set IMEI to False. But no change...
I set INTELGFX_100000 from True to False. But this did not seem to change anything
Before asking this question I followed this guide:

Do you mean that my Config is incorrect AND that i should add something to Arbitrary?
Or is the info in Arbitrary wrong for the HD 3000?
I can't find the correct information for the HD 3000 to add in Arbitrary. But i did read you can use AddProperties instead of Arbitrary?
Should i add this...
Thanks for the reply first off.
Are you saying my config is incorrect AND i'm missing Arbitrary?
I can't find much on how to add Arbitrary, but i read you can also use AddProperties

After updating my Graphics Card from a 560TI to a 1070 I can no longer use my graphics card.
So I reinstalled OSX Sierra with the HD3000, which is working fine....
I got dual monitor running with both native resolution (highest 2560x1600)
Except, when trying to open FCP X I get an error that...
I fixed mine too! finally!
I tried all the fixes here, but nothing worked. Not the kext, nothing.
Then i reinstalled, installed the web drivers and rebooted with nv_disable=1.
Booted fine as usual. I saw the Nvidia icon in the top right which i had not noticed before.
I opened the Nvidia...
