Did either of you guys ever solve this one? I am having the same issue on my 8460p w/ the headphone jack. Audio is fine through the laptop speakers, but once I plug in headphones, I get nothing.
First off, thanks to everyone on this forum for the great info and work. I recently purchased a refurbished Elitebook 8460p and have succesfully gotten Mavericks (w/ updates) installed. Things seem to work wonderfully until I put the laptop to sleep (I've tried manually and closing the lid)...
Thanks for this thread - otherwise I would have pulled out any hair that is left on my head by now.
This fixed most of my issues - however I still get a weird kind of "bump" noise whenever my sound goes idle for a while and then I do something w/ output - kind of like it's waking up but then...
I had success w/ the DS3H and HD2000. There is no OpenGL/hardware acceleration support.
Check this thread for the tweaks you need to make
I am not sure why, but the only way I got to the ML install screen was using GraphicsEnabler=Yes and -f each time through Chimera.
I got an EVGA GeForce 210 as described here. Popped that sucker in and seems to be working great with GraphicsEnabler=Yes.
I am not a gamer, so this was a sub $20 purchase for me since my Sandy Bridge HD2000 graphics weren't going to cut it. Thanks for everyone's help!
@Mieze
You are my hero. That worked like a charm. Thanks so much! Where did you find said info - I've been looking over the old forums and didn't see much about getting HD2000 to work.
Not really sure why, but when I booted my UniBeast USB I had to:
GraphicsEnabler=Yes -f
Each time or else it would not get to the installer.
I can't get my resolution to change from 1024x768, even after setting a "Graphics Mode" in the Chameleon plist file.
I have a dedicated graphics...
You need to use 10.7.4 w/ BridgeHelper 5.0 as AFAIK it is the only version of OSX that has been patched to support Ivy Bridge CPUs / chipsets.
If you follow MacMan's thread here you should have success.
The only thing I am not sure about is when he checks off Nvidia 4xx/5xx support in...
You sure about that? I don't have an IB CPU, but according to BridgeHelper 5.0:
tonymacx86 Blog: BridgeHelper 5.0: Native Ivy Bridge Kernel & Power Management, USB 3.0, and Intel HD 4000
So yeah, my question was more of do I need to run it *again* if everything is working?
FWIW I have HD2000 working on 10.7.4 w/ Gigabyte GA-D77-DS3H. I used the newest UniBeast / BridgeHelper / MultiBeast.
It doesn't work great (lots of shearing), and AFAIK you can't get any OpenGL acceleration w/ it - so I can't play any kind of videos so far.
But yeah - it works.
First off, many, many thanks for the time & effort of everyone involved on this site / the various software projects.
Secondly, I know, I know - I am stupid and didn't research enough, but I bought a Z77-DS3H (Ivy Bridge) mobo and a i5-2400 (Sandy Bridge) CPU. Stupid. I know.
So anyhow...
I am a complete n00b and while I targeted my USB the first time, I was having problems with my build and not paying attention and did this the 2nd time I was trying to re-install everything on the USB.
I haven't rebooted yet, but yeah - it might be a good idea to put a giant WARNING in the...
