Is your mother board this one: https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-z690-p-wifi/ ? If so your bios is ancient and was even removed from the support repository! I reccomend updating to BIOS 3010 after you do the ME firmware update.
I mean that the Thunderbolt monitor works without issues, it boots shows BIOS post image, webcam, sound & microphone work. I can sleep the machine as well but on wake I loose webcam sound and mic on monitor but image is fine. Later BIOS revision's you loose BIOS post and monitor USB function...
What BIOS Version? On my board I had issues with anything over BIOS 3101 which for your board looks to be the equivalent of 1801 as those are booth versions when they patched LogoFail vulnerabilities and added PCIe bandwidth bifurcation configuration as well as updating Intel ME to version...
FYI the later BIOS versions 3302 and 3401 are totally buggy with my LG 5K thunderbolt display. Every time I shutdown I loose the thunderbolt initialization and have to boot into windows twice to get it back. On 3101 its flawless. I also tried with the new SSDT and its no good.
I actually lost the ability to hot plug my thunderbolt monitor in windows and mac os, however going to sleep in windows and wakeup it still retains audio/webcam which is not working with the latest CaseySJ SSDT here is the IO reg after waking from sleep using the 3 kernel patches and the latest...
Ok here are my findings, I get what you expect without my LG Ultrafine 5k connected (screenshot attached) if I boot with my thunderbolt monitor It works with sound and webcam. But the thunderbolt bus info in System Information app is gone and I cant hot swap it. In the prior SSDT you provided...
I would like to test this out
I am running Ventura with the ThunderboltEX 4 add in card on the Asus W680-Ace can I do this with a SSDT? Do you need anything from me to verify or should I just modify that SSDT?
@Elias64Fr Thanks for reporting your findings, so I only need to modify the the ROM chip on the Thunderbolt 4 card default IOThunderboltSwitchOS to IOThunderboltSwitchType6 and nothing else?
I would recommend sticking to the sample EFI in this guide as its a very proven and reliable method for asus x790 and x690 series boards especially when the mods update the first page to reflect the slide=0 boot arg for updated bios
BIOS Post and bios settings work with the monitor probably should also work on the 5K studio display from apple but if it doesnt you can always return it within 14 days
