    NVRAM Issues with Ventura Installer

On a hunch that this might be an RTC write issue, I found this page in Dortania's guide and started down the road by Disabling RTC Checksum using OCAT. In this process of doing this, I realized that the EFI I made lacked needed boot args, so I added those (-v debug=0x100 keepsyms=1 alcid=1)...

    NVRAM Issues with Ventura Installer

Struggling to move from Catalina to Ventura. I have created the attached EFI and made it through the first two reboots of the installer, but with about 20 minutes left, I ran into this error during one of the reboots. At the moment I am running Catalina using Clover bootloader from a SSD. I...

    NVME error & NVRAM Reset

Thanks, my question was phrased poorly, apologies - what I was looking for was whether OCAT had a configuration option that included NVRAM reset? At the moment I am in a bit of a fix and can't seem to clear this issue. In the past a simple CMOS reset would do the trick so I am not sure where to...

    NVME error & NVRAM Reset

So I attempted Ventura once again this morning, this time using a 19,1 iMac based EFI. And it seemed to be doing ok until the second reboot when it choked on the follow NVRAM error which I can't seem to get past. I removed all SATA devices an the M2 drive I was installing to, and it still...

Beginners Guide to using OC Auxiliary Tools App (Also known as OCAT)

Out of curiorisity, why is 19,1 more appropriate? I am running Catalina using 19,2 so I was just carrying that over to Ventura since it seems to work now.

Beginners Guide to using OC Auxiliary Tools App (Also known as OCAT)

@5T33Z0, thank YOU and everyone who has created and maintained OCAT. I've been stuck on Catalina and Clover for years because despite repeated efforts, I've been unable to follow Dortina's Guide successfully but using OCAT has taught me quite a bit and I feel like Ventura is within reach as...

Beginners Guide to using OC Auxiliary Tools App (Also known as OCAT)

Quick question (hope it fits here) - suddenly OCAT is no longer generating a System Serial Number or MLB, only the UUID. Am I making a blindingly obvious mistake just hitting the "generate" button? I could have sworn in the past it would populate SerialNumber and MLB. Thanks. Edit...

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

Greeting @pastychef, I am running Catalina (10.15.5) using Clover and interested in getting updated to Ventura using Open Core. Looking for a SSD recommendation and wonder if you commend I follow the instructions you provided to @philament23 in post #5,230? I have the same motherboard and...

Haswell/Big Sur Boot Loop Help Needed

Thanks for the clarification, I can stop spamming the apple support page, and yes, I should have said System Serial, not UUID in my post above. I confirmed my ROM in my config.plist matches my Ethernet MAC address, and that is linked to en0, so back to google unless you have any other insights.

Haswell/Big Sur Boot Loop Help Needed

I did create all new Serials and also created new AppleID for the specific purpose of testing iServices on this build. I haven't tried my "main" Apple ID as of yet as I want to wait to have everything working before I use it. I suspect the issue is that the UUID is not returning as invalid on...

Haswell/Big Sur Boot Loop Help Needed

Thanks TRS for all your help. In 24 hours, I've made more progress than I've made in now-and-then efforts to get this old rig working. I've got it booting nicely from the Monterey SSD and just trying to sort out why iMessage is signing me out after a few seconds. Also, is it safe to run...

Haswell/Big Sur Boot Loop Help Needed

So I created the Monterey installer, and I read your linked post which says, "Booting and the Clean installation of macOS Monterey was done in the normal manner." Can you be a bit more explicit in terms of next steps? The Montery USB is not recognized as bootable media, and copying over the...

Haswell/Big Sur Boot Loop Help Needed

This looks pretty simple, but I am having trouble finding the Monterey .dmg to download. If I use the EFI posted tot the thread you linked to, could I follow the OpenCore/Dortina guide and use the recovery partition method? Or is the Monterey .dmg hosted somewhere?

Haswell/Big Sur Boot Loop Help Needed

I thought Big Sur was the furthest I could go with Haswell hardware, is that not the case? If so I’m happy to give Monterey a shot (maybe tomorrow since I’ve been at this for about 5 hours today so far)
