    Battery showing as not present

Were you able to solve your problem? I'd recommend installing ACPIBatteryManager.kext

    atheros ar5b95 9285 issue

That would require a BIOS whitelist removal, which is something I'm too sheepish to try. Is there any way around that? EDIT: Steeled my guts and finally removed the whitelist. I had the file laying around for months but I finally decided to do it today.

    atheros ar5b95 9285 issue

Update: it's not a hardware issue. Card works fine in Windows with speeds of up to 8 Mbps (normal/moderately fast for my area). Any idea what else could be wrong? Should I try a fresh install?

    atheros ar5b95 9285 issue

Okay, thanks. My knowledge is quite fuzzy in that area, which is why I refrain from BIOS modding as well... I discovered something interesting: my upload speed is normal, around 6.5 Mbps (fastest speed around here) but my download is only 0.5 Mbps. Does this mean its no longer a card issue, or...

    atheros ar5b95 9285 issue

Sorry for double post, but is it at all possible for this to be a BIOS issue? To me the BIOS whitelist is some voodoo magic, but logically speaking could it be hampering the speeds as this is not a card manufactured by Lenovo? The device did boot, however, without screaming some "Unsupported...

    atheros ar5b95 9285 issue

See, I don't think its the card OR the laptop that's bad. I did a little experimenting, and this is interesting:1) When I run PdaNet + AR9285 WiFi, speeds are really nice on speedtest.net (around ~6.5, above average for my location in my house/in the world)2) I disconnect PdaNet, and shortly...

    atheros ar5b95 9285 issue

Hey RHM, I got AR9285 to work but it has VERY low speeds on a U310 (~ 50KB/s). I got it from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Y485P-Z580-G580-U310-U410-AR5B195-Wireless-Bluetooth3-0-Half-PCI-E-Card-/191205264601?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c84b8ccd9 I tried metal shielding, etc. no...

    Hardware for Airport Card

Hi, I recently got an BCM943224 card from a 2012 macbook air but didn't realize that the card is not actually a half pci-e, but some strange shape and size. I found out that I have to use an adapter to fit the card into a half pci-e slot; does anyone know of any cheap adapter suppliers? It seems...

    FakePCIID on MacBook Air Card

Hi, I've found a good priced macbook air card online, but my BIOS only supports BCM4313 and the card is BCM4322. Has anyone had any success rebranding the card as a 4313 and then FakePCIIDing it to BCM4322?

Will BT 3.0 HS Work With Handoff

Is the fundamental obstacle that the Handoff software itself does not support Atheros cards? Why isn't it possible to fix this, e.g. by a hex edit?

Will BT 3.0 HS Work With Handoff

Hi, I was just wondering, I recently ordered an AR5B195 combo card (contains AR9285 WiFi and AR3011 Bluetooth). The card lists support for Bluetooth 3.0 HS, so I was wondering if that would work with the new Continuity/Handoff features in Yosemite. If not, are there any reasons fundamentally...

    AR9285 excessively slow

It appears that a Dell Inspiron uses it, so its probably not too uncommon. Here's a picture of the Inspiron card: http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=10344
