Yes, that is correct! I ordered mine from http://www.thebookyard.com/ for $58. I have experienced the problem you are describing, but on a Macbook Pro. It was a display cable that was not seated properly. But who knows, it can be many things.

G5 displays are a lot cheaper, and works just as good. :)

julien7895: I am happy that you liked my project! I believe that changing the LCD is definately possible, but it would require a lot of work. First you would have to install and make room for the new inverter. The original inverter will most likely not work very well with a different monitor...

Yes it should definitely be possible. Finding and fitting a 15" screen would be easy with some glue. You could probably fit a good GPU inside it too, as long as you remove the original CRT. Would be a cool portable gaming rig! An eMac would probably be even better, since it has a flat CRT. Then...
