I have successfully installed Catalina on my Skull Canyon. Got into some trouble when I was trying to install Clover after the install. It could not mount the EFI, and the scripts from Rehabman would not complete as they should.
I ran this:
sudo spctl --master-disable
sudo mount -uw /
killall...
Yes, that is correct!
I ordered mine from http://www.thebookyard.com/ for $58.
I have experienced the problem you are describing, but on a Macbook Pro. It was a display cable that was not seated properly. But who knows, it can be many things.

I believe that changing the LCD is definately possible, but it would require a lot of work. First you would have to install and make room for the new inverter. The original inverter will most likely not work very well with a different monitor...
Hi robinhuang.
That's true, but the thing I find strange is that the 580 worked perfectly in El Capitan.
InjectIntel is already set to true, and I have tried these different ig-platform-ids.
Hi everyone!
Last week, I tried to install Sierra since I needed the latest version of iWork. Shouldn't have done it.
It's an Intel NUC6i7KYK Skull Canyon, see my signature for details :)
El Capitan was installed per Rehabmans guide, and it has been working very good the last months. I then...

Last week, I tried to install Sierra since I needed the latest version of iWork. Shouldn't have done it.
I upgraded as per the guide.
Everything works, except for the screen. It flickers/artefacts really bad, and the GPU is reported as "Intel Iris Pro Graphics 580 6 MB".
Do you...
Yes it should definitely be possible. Finding and fitting a 15" screen would be easy with some glue. You could probably fit a good GPU inside it too, as long as you remove the original CRT. Would be a cool portable gaming rig!
An eMac would probably be even better, since it has a flat CRT. Then...
I have a question regarding the USB sound adapter. I bought the same one as you did (the white one), but I was disappointed when I discovered how bad the audio quality was. Thinking it was simply because of it being so cheap, I started planning to replace it. But then I booted into Windows, and...
Major breakthrough today!
I wanted to fix the following:
Graphical artefacts
Random (and not so random) sudden shutdowns
Fan noise
# Problem 1 - Graphical artefacts
As my last post showed, the artefacts got gradually worse. I was convinced it had to be the wiring, since the artefacts would...
I agree. But I thought that since the original NUC power brick max out at 120w (and the NUC maxes out at 85w full load), I could use the internal one that provides 190w + the screen. The reason I didn't suspect it was simply because it would not shut down in either Linux or Windows, only in Mac...
