Well… So obvious in retrospect. Feeling a bit ashamed, but sure enough my installer was just fine from the beginning… So for posterity, at least on Ventura and with my configuration, prev-lang:kbd can be left blank. But changes to config.plist need an NVRAM reset. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your answer!
I have tried with the value 12 in hex for swiss-french and also with the string en-US:0, but still the grey screen…
I only have one 4K monitor. I also tried with the old 1080p monitor I was using when I succeeded a few days ago, but it didn't change anything…
Hi there,
I successfully installed Ventura on my upgraded PowerHack G5 a few days ago. I still have some tweaks to do, but for the most parts it works ok. Now I moved my Windows install to a bigger SSD, and I want to reinstall Ventura on a bigger SSD too.
My installer USB stick with OpenCore...
And… it boots!
Not sure exactly what did the trick, but I cleaned up my config.plist so it validated, using values copied over from some successful builds around. I could boot my Big Sur drive from two years ago and backup my VMs…
Doing a clean install of Ventura now. Thanks all for your help...
Thanks for your answer!
My config.plist is indeed based on the sample.plist from OpenCore 0.9.4.
Regarding the 5 key missing in the ACPI > Patch section, Dortania's guide says "This section allows us to dynamically modify parts of the ACPI (DSDT, SSDT, etc.) via OpenCore. For us, our patches...
@P1LGRIM Actually you just pointed me to the url without saying anything... ;)
Sorry I wrongly assumed it meant the Apple Silicon made installer wouldn't boot on Intel, because my system definition in config.plist is of a MacPro7,1 which is recommended for Adler Lake and which runs Ventura. Am I...
@P1LGRIM, you're telling me the installer USB I created on a M2 MacBook Pro can't boot on Intel? I thought those were still universal binaries…
Anyway, I'm currently trying to make another installer USB from Windows…
That makes sense ;)
Thanks for your answer! Actually it's booting in verbose mode, and it seems to fail right at the beginning of the boot process, since the last lines showing are the same than the last lines of the OpenCore log:
29:995 00:053 AAPL: @[EB|MMD][# 52] 0x00000007...
Hi there,
First post in a long time! Last year I upgraded my PowerHack G5 (build in signature) with a Gigabyte Aorus Elite Z690M mobo, an i7 12700K and a RX 6600XT. Nowadays this machine is mostly a gaming PC, but I wanted to maintain Hackintosh capability. I followed some online advice about...
Wow. Thanks a lot!
I disabled the iGPU and used your config.plist on my usb installer, and I could complete the installation. I'm writing this from Big Sur! Now I'll proceed with post-install stuff, and I'll compare your config.plist with what I had prior in order to try and understand what was...
Hi there,
My Hackintosh rebooted during a fresh installation of Big Sur Beta 10 with OpenCore 0.6.2, and it got stuck on a reboot loop. I could boot to the newly created Big Sur Recovery partition and tried the install again, only to get stuck at the same reboot loop. As far as I can tell, the...
I managed to get the installation to launch by resetting the NVRAM (nvram -c as a boot arg in Clover screen), and I'm happily running 10.15.7, thanks to this post. I hope it helps!
I have the same issue, or a very similar one. It boots to the installation partition, but the installation never actually starts. It aborts with the spinning wheel for a few seconds and shuts down. 10.15.6 runs fine, with up to date kexts and Clover.
I'll follow this thread in the hope of...
Hi,
My Hackintosh specs are similar to yours, with another mobo. I couldn't manage to make the Fenvi T919 work for me, no matter what I tried. See this thread that summarise my efforts: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/unable-to-fix-shutdown-with-fenvi-fv-t919-wifi-bt-card.285158/#post-2023913...
