    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Something seems off with your install, like OC dismisses your settings. Have you counterchecked? You got iOReg? Tried the Thunderbolt ports? I ain't home right now, but if you want I can shoot you some SSDTs, once I'm back (if I don't forget :D). Those freezes could have to do something with...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Good to know. As I said, imma deal with that first (and anyways), but thanks for the input my man (y) :)

So DMAC ain't strictly necessary? (Though I'd still like to deal with it, for the sake of completion). Cause I dealt with the other steps already, in all their entirety :)

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

As I said; I was under the impression :D just an educated guess, based on the lack of information (or rather not wanting to read all 4k pages of your thread) :p Nice going, so I only have to deal with the SSDT for direct memory access (never bothered with that, unfortunately) and I'm good to...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

But those special BIOSes are probably experimental and not released to the public, right? I was under the impression those steps were necessary to get to enable Apple-VTD at all, I had no idea, they were for maintaining Apple-VTD with humongous amounts of RAM. You got some clarification to do...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ I see your thread is still going strong. As I couldn't find any hint to it (but I assume it's still a no-go); there's been no further development in the BIOS PXe department, has it? On another note I also assume, that more, than 16GB RAM, of any sort, is still harmful for Apple-VTD...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

But from what I understood, it is an on-mainboard present, functioning and meaningful device. Makes still sense to implement it (at least for me), like SMBus :)

I was under the impression that was just DMAR and not DMAC. You can understand my confusion, when I saw no reference :) Touché, Sir. To be fair and honest, I've always been doing it, but because I just think it belongs there. Never have I seen any benefits, but same could be said about HDMI ;)

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ A few other questions popped into my mind: 1: you said the framebuffer patch isn't necessary anymore. But we'd still have to define the ports, right? Say, for example HDMI? 2: I saw in your EFI a file, SSDT-DMAC.aml. I was under the impression DMA was no real deal, or at least not...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I'm already checking the loaded OS, but still, there seems to be something Windows doesn't like... Good, that I'm still on Titan Ridge then ;) I skimmed through the first few pages, but I can't really say I see that much excitement, much less share it. Still one question lingers in my mind...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Cool. Any Updates any time soon? First I heard of it I got giddy as a child, but after the VT-d discovery I didn't hear anything since. Ok, then I have to make my own discovery through trial and error ;) Damn! I hoped I could get past as many property injections as possible. I'm still doing it...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hey @CaseySJ couple of quick questions: The BIOS experiment has been put on halt, until further notice (resp. @Elias64Fr is still experimenting), did I get that right? From what I understood enabling Apple VT-d yields a Blackscreen under Windows. Does that happen to everyone? Any workarounds in...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Quite the contrary: I don't inject anything at all :) I'm trying to keep the changes to the DSDT/SSDTs, seeing as they're more robust and I can obviously reuse them every time ;) As for the conversion: I really didn't bother much with a guide, I just kicked everything installed with clover from...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

Actually it's not, kind of you, nonetheless. I want to create a kext mapping my USB ports (and functions/types), but can't determine, which is which, due to the tools being made for more modern systems (I believe). I've got EH01 and EH02 controllers in both, ioreg and hackintool, which show no...

The New Beginner's Guide to USB Port Configuration

'twas a painful experience, but I switched to OC, a while back (Ibelive with the introduction of 0.5.8)
