[README] Common (some unsolved) Problems in 10.12 Sierra

I have a DELL 7548 which is virtually flawless under 10.12; even the SD card reader works. I am using Clover to boot, using RehabMan-FakePCIID-2016-0512 for WIFI. When I install 10.12.1 (any beta) the wireless disappears - it says no hardware found. I have the LENOVO Broadcom card NGFF...

    Dell 7548, Clover, Yosemite, i7-5500U, 1920x1080, Intel Video w/Touchscreen

If you cannot figure out how to follow this 'guide', starting in step 3, you should probably stop attempting a hack as it appears you won't be able to make it work. MORE IMPORTANTLY, making this DVMT modification is NOT necessary BEFORE installation; this little procedure is about 1% of what...

    Dell 7548, Clover, Yosemite, i7-5500U, 1920x1080, Intel Video w/Touchscreen

I'm working on a GUIDE for this. Here is the portion relevant to the DVMT modification. Prepare for build starting in Windows: Place my ARCHIVE folder in the ROOT of a FAT32 formatted USB STICK/DRIVE for booting later. INSTALL THE LATEST BIOS - mine is currently A03 from June 15, 2015...

    Dell 7548, Clover, Yosemite, i7-5500U, 1920x1080, Intel Video w/Touchscreen

I wouldn't recommend using my stuff unchanged unless you are doing exactly the same thing with exactly the same machine. As you are NOT, the DSDT will be incorrect at the very least.

UPDATED 05/08/2015 - Source DSDT.dsl posted - see below I have posted my latest Clover files: With FB0 you'll be setting up as a MackBookAir7,2 early 2015 & with FB2 you'll be setting up as a MacBookPro12,1 early 2015 so don't try to use iCloud yet. ASSUMING that you have the same machine...

Dell Inspiron 17R-SE-7720 Notebook is compatible for install mountain Lion?

Any luck? I am going to do this this week. I have a 17R SE 3D currently which is not video compatible; i am running ML 10.8.3+ on both my 17R SE 3D and my L702x 3D. Since I have a working install, I can 'cheat' a bit. I have NEVER, however, had success with a vanilla install via...

DELL XPS L702X on Mountain Lion?

And PM me please via Tonymac site ... I have a link to my dropbox for you.

DELL XPS L702X on Mountain Lion?

Well let's look at a few things. The reason to build two identical bootable copies of OS X is to save time when making modifications. With only one viable copy, updates which break our install will make the machine unusable. You have a over 1TB of drive space - I can tell you that an active...

DELL XPS L702X on Mountain Lion?

Windows has two partitions ... you boot the little one, not the actual install. Does that work? And I have never been successful on my L702x with Chimera which is why I included my version of the Chameleon boot loader in my MLionEX zip file. This may actually be an issue with my particular...

DELL XPS L702X on Mountain Lion?

Yes, that is expected. Do both Mac OS X installs boot from your USB stick? And can your current boot stick see them and your Windows install? You should actually be able to boot your windows install from the boot stick by choosing the System Reserved icon ... (or whatever the small, 100MB or...

DELL XPS L702X on Mountain Lion?

The issue you have is related to the boot process - no audio until we are booting from a post-install boot setup. We can either finish your install which will result in audio OR you can obtain another USB boot stick, rebuild the installation using your final DSDT, final kexts and /Extra which...

DELL XPS L702X on Mountain Lion?

Sure. Would you put some specifics in so I know what/how much hard drive space we have, etc. Specifically, it would be good to know your long term goal - mine is to run Mac OS X almost exclusively so I minimize my Windows build. I would suggest the following although it does not have to be...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

Once in Terminal, you will see your current folder displayed similar to this: dell17rse3d:~ admin$ .. to navigate, type ~/downloads/msrdumper.kext - the ~ is a shortcut for 'where I am now' ... Get PlistEditPro - it is an app much better for this task than Xcode. Look at the different board...

ML: Native Ivy Bridge CPU and GPU Power Management

Sorry - if I said 2630QM somewhere ... it is a 3630QM, and using the MBP10,1 didn't help UNTIL I corrected my error. I was trying to make the table match the Dell generated steps ... you must 1) not change the steps generated by the formula and 2) set the APSN (mine is 0x0B) and APLF (0x02)...
