Just wanted to say that I've been getting the same (especially when waking from sleep) on a ”real” Mac Pro Mid 2010 (aka MacPro5,1) since I installed Catalina 10.15.2 and a RX 5700 XT graphics card. Continues to this day with Catalina 10.15.7 (19H15). I have no idea what's triggering it. I...
”Real” Macs see this too.
I have the same problem with ”userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from com.apple.WindowServer Kernel Panics from time to time when waking my Mac Pro (Mid 2010) from sleep, and while that computer isn't supported by Apple for use with Catalina a lot of...
There are other benefits than pure data transfer speed, such as power consumption:
The 970 EVO Plus brings modest improvements to both active idle and deep idle power consumption
Another is idle wakeup time:
The idle wake-up latency of the 970 EVO Plus is about half that of the original 970...
Just wondering if anyone has tried playing Starcraft 2 on a NUC7 (Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640) with High Sierra 10.13.6? I get a total system freeze some minutes after starting a game (i.e. in game, not the game menus). No idea why this happens as I have zero stability problems with any other...
Hi guys!
I decided to update things on my NUC7 running High Sierra, so I did:
git stash
git pull
make clean
make
make install_nuc7
./download.sh
./install_downloads.sh
Then I downloaded an installed the latest Clover. Checked for only EFI/Clover/kexts/Other to be existing. Updated (replaced)...
I had the 970 EVO Plus but returned it due to the Kernel Panics. Two months later a firmware fix is released for the 970 Plus and it's too late for me to return the 970 EVO. :-/ Oh, well... Good the difference isn't too big (same controller).
So no Kernel Panics after the firmware update?
Is it Kernel Panics that happen for you with the 970 EVO Plus despite having updated to the latest firmware?
That's interesting that it worked in El Cap, but I'm not sure if Nvidia will do anything about dual GPU problems since it's very Hackintosh specific. :) I guess it wouldn't hurt to mention it, though…
New driver just released that I hear should help on the UI lag issue: 387.10.10.10.30.106
It also supposedly fixes some occasional color artifacts I've seen show up in windows especially in the Finder (on my GTX 970 at least).
Let's see how it works. :)
Do you think it's safe to update to 10.13.4? Seems there has been quite a lot of firmware updates included for many Macs in the 10.13.4 update, but I guess that won't affect our NUC installations?
