Hey again, fellas. Just a little update on my USB freeze issue: I visited my local MicroCenter this morning and picked up a WD Blue 1TB SSD, cloned installation from the M.2 onto the SSD, reset SMBIOS and other necessary information, and it's now been running all day without any hiccups...

I haven't tested that, but for the time being I'm using HDMI audio. I have external speakers I could test as well. I could leave a long playlist of some kind going on YT to see what it does. My guess is that it would still work.

Mavs on Asus Z97-A with ThunderboltEX II... What the heck?? Looks like I figured it out. I changed my Thunderbolt security in my bios to "no security", did a cold boot into Mavs and Thunderbolt was recognized & working, just in case anyone else had this problem. No more booting into Windows.
