I'm unable to get Catalina installer to boot on my machine. I'm wary of bricking my desktop so I'm trying to get Catalina installer USB to a bootable state and then copy the EFI from that to my desktop for the upgrade, but it just won't complete booting. It gets to a step where it tries to...
@kgp I've updated my profile. I'm not sure I completely understand the "nulling" part. Are you saying I need to "null" all devices under BR3A@3? Looking at IOACPIPlane I see
So do I need to null all of these?
With respect to WEG, can it conflict in some way with the SSDT or should it be...
For my GPU, IORegistryExplorer says the path is
IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/AppleACPIPCI/BR3A@3/IOPP/H000@0/IOPP/pci-bridge@0/IOPP/GFX0@0
How would I adopt the Vega 64 SSDT to this? The SSDT assumes the path is PCI0.BR3C/PEGP/EGP0/GFX0
I see no PEGP or EGP0 anywhere in...
@pastrychef just another motivation for dropping the $$ to upgrade I guess. Like I said, my Vega 64 worked perfect without whatevergreen, so I was hoping a Vega 56 would work just as well. I have the Vega 64 in my windows gaming box, which I would otherwise just throw in the hackintosh. If...
Actually, to be more precise, without whatevergreen, my RX580 doesn't do HDMI audio. @pastrychef does HDMI audio out work for you without whatevergreen?
That’s what I sort of expected based on my experience with VEGA 64, just wondering whether Vega 56 cards work as well. There had also been different experience from different people for RX580 depending on vendor as I recall, so wanted to see whether others have had good luck with this specific one.
has anyone had success with the ASRock Phantom Gaming X Radeon Vega 56 (the reference style board) on Mojave? I'm just wondering whether this card works without whatevergreen. I have an RX580 that requires whatevergreen, and a Vega 64 that works with no additional mods. Looking to replace the...
Are you expecting that you'll be able to use TB for display? If you want to use the GTX as GPU and output to TB, you should rethink that as it might not be possible...
A 3rd party "response" that came 5 years before MS Surface? Read the post again. This has been around for a long time. They're just updating it to newer hardware.
