[Guide] Lenovo Y580 - Sierra (10.12) using Clover UEFI

Excuse my necroposting, but do you think there's any possibility I could apply the logic behind this guide to install Mojave? There are updated kexts around, and I'm aware that installing High Sierra and above have their issues as explored in other topics, but I'm kind of worried it might not...

If it's compatible with OSX, it should work just fine. As for your non-booting partition, you should install Chameleon onto your OSX partition, there should be an installer or wizard somewhere in your installation. If not, download the Chameleon installer and follow the steps. Should be pretty...

Not possible(as of yet, perhaps). Your best chance would be getting an external wireless usb stick for wi-fi. Sadly, there's nothing you can currently do about graphics.

Worry not, after you're done with the installation you should be able to use your laptop's keyboard just fine.

Just get a USB keyboard and mouse, they should work fine. :3

    Mavericks (10.9) on Lenovo Y580

Thanks to this guide and the Mountain Lion guide, I was able to get this setup running. If anybody's into multibooting, you'll have no issue if you follow the steps detailed in the topics! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc6OhT5YA8A

Use the Kext Wizard to install all the kexts present in the .zip from the first topic. That worked for me. ;)

I'll give you my /Extra files. I have the 1366x768 model with the Intel Core i5 CPU. https://www.mediafire.com/?l5g67yr6acd8d9r They're slightly altered versions of the files in this topic's initial post, I think.

I'm posting through it right as we speak. Installed it on an external drive and restored it on my HDD. I used my previously working DSDT from the Mountain Lion installation on another partition and it booted alright, although with incompatibilities at first. Try using the Kext Wizard that's in...

    Mavericks (10.9) on Lenovo Y580

Any chance Clover might be able to work with the 1366x768 i5 version? I managed to get Mountain Lion to work using the guide in the previous topic, but I've had no luck with Mavericks so far. I created a Unibeast stick, the bootloader starts fine, the files seem to be loading, I get into Verbose...

Is there any chance the guide might work for a UEFI install with Clover?

Mountain Lion Laptop Users Read First

That one's actually only partially correct. You can only install on a GUID partition table, but there's a rather easy way to circumvent this WITHOUT modifying the installer. Just make sure you have your installer media ready, as well as an external HDD or USB flash drive large enough to...

THAT WORKED! You cannot believe how thankful I am. I will, but I've used the kexts from page 16 and all of them seem to work quite alright so far! Thanks for your recommendation.
