    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

Okay, found Mattystonnie and did what he outline here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/amd-radeon-performance-enhanced-ssdt.296555/ But what exactly does this do? From his description, it seems to enhance performance on navi cards. But it doesn't seem to do anything to turn on the fans. On...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

Yep. Two separate cables off two rails. One is 8-pin, the other 6-pin. The PSU came with those two cables. The PSU's wattage is a bit lower than I'd like. Originally, I wanted something ~750, but the case I'm using (Lian Li TU150) requires an SFF PSU, and those are hard to find during this...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

After RMA replacing my Gigabyte 5700xt, the snap crackle pop crash seems to be fixed (cross fingers), but then I get a new problem: overheating. First sign was seeing my 970 EVO running hot, around 65 C even when idle. Thought it was just the drive itself, then realized it was the whole...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

Yeah, that's right. I figured there will be some turbulence with some mainstream apps, and maybe I could (or not) deal with those. But it's problems with basic input/output that's making Catalina intolerable. I'm a southpaw, and have been using Razer Orochi ambidextrous mouse for a long time...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

@Leesureon and @LordHumungus, Good to know. Thanks. I'll try out various SMBIOS ID's and report back for those who may be curious. (actually, reading some previous posts here, some of you had tried them out and reported back...) But while I have the ears/eyes of you experts, I'd like to ask...

Is changing the system just a matter of modifying the config.plist accordingly, or are there more things to modify? S

    Did Catalina fry my 5700XT?

Also, I just tried out your OC EFI. Works fine. I had tried ModMike's EFI's (both clover ones and OC ones), and they never worked for me for some reason. Same think when I tried one from pastrychef, iDrakus, et al. I was able to create one of my own, after spending a whole day on it couple of...

    Did Catalina fry my 5700XT?

I tried Cinebench r20 on Windows a few times, and it worked fine, albeit slower than I'd like. Which is why I'm thinking it's Catalina's fault, esp since reading the many others' posts about their 5700xt crashing under various versions of Catalina. I wouldn't mind crashing if it didn't sound...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

Perhaps I have a faulty card. Man, what a pain. I already had to replace the mobo. And now maybe the card too. The funny thing is that the GPU's pretty well behaved when doing light stuff like watching youtube, even at 4k. After the first crash, I tried again to watch Netflix at its highest res...

    Did Catalina fry my 5700XT?

I have the minimum PSU, a Corsair SF600 Platinum 600W one. Because of my chassis required an SFF PSU, I had a tough time finding one anywhere. I'd have preferred higher wattage for some headroom, but the guy at a local computer shop said pickings slim due to covid. Maybe it's the PSU, dunno. But...

    AMD Radeon Navi GPU

Interesting thread. Seems to be very related to what I'm going through. I just finished building a new hackintosh and I too got a couple crashes in Catalina 10.15.6. And I also think they're something to with my 5700xt (Gigabyte Gaming OC). But to those of you who had crashes, have you had...

    Did Catalina fry my 5700XT?

Hi all, I recently finished a build with the following parts: * Asus Z390-I ROG Strix mobo * Intel i7-8700K * Air-cooled with Noctua NH-U14s * G.skill Ripjaw 2x16GB sticks * Gigabyte Gaming OC 5700XT * Samsung 970 Evo Pro 512GB (on top of mobo) * Sabrent Rocket 1TB (on bottom of mobo) * all...

[05/02 Added Temporary Fix] Pascal / GTX 1060 Glitching after waking from sleep

FWIW, the only sure ways of clearing up the tearing/flickering/lagging issue after sleep, for me at least, are: 1. Rebooting the system 2. disconnecting then reconnecting the HDMI connection 3. logging out then logging back in hot corner sleep fix doesn't work for me. The system in question...

Screen tearing and lag after waking under Sierra + gtx 1060

For me, I noticed that three things completely fixes the tearing and lag: 1. Reboot 2. pulling out the HDMI and reconnecting it 3. Log out and relogging back in The hot corner method (I'm assuming forcing the display to sleep, then waking?) doesn't work for me though. S
