    Revised Ivy Build- Input Appreciated

Thanks for the Keyboard and Mouse Info! Otherwise, I am planning to build during spring break mostly to keep distractions from my school work. My hackintosh will be sort of....an accolade once I finish my finals. As of now, I have been researching and have collaborated about two or three...

    Revised Ivy Build- Input Appreciated

Based on this, should I count on thunderbolt working? Its not a must. Its (z77a g45) less expensive than the UD5H, but happens to have Thunderbolt, that's why I am considering it.

    Revised Ivy Build- Input Appreciated

Well, four months in to this project, and I still haven't started...hmph  Anyway, After I made sure I locked down a perfect part list, and told myself I wouldn't change; I changed it all. Now, after the traditional ud5h, 660ti, etc, I decided that I could find better, possibly more...

    Quick Question about Compatible Parts

Nawwww....it doesn't really matter ;) All ssd's and hard drives work because you can put one in a real Mac. As for the PSU, 1200w seems like overkill! But its your choice! Good luck on your build! :)

first build for architecture - please help me with compatibility

Welcome to Hackintoshing! Actually, If you live in the US, or have a relative or friend who does, the 3770k is $229 at Microcenter (in store pickup only though). Yeah, as DBP stated, you really should go with 16gb of RAM. For the motherboard, the ASRock will require a modified and...

Custom "About This Mac" via Multibeast

There have been many advancements in customization for the past month. It would be really cool to have an option directly in Multibeast to select an image, and after the re-boot, have it appear in the "About This Mac" slide! Thanks "Chip" and "King13p" (and everyone else) for the guides! I cant...

Venturing into Hackintosh as a frustrated video editor.

As Ewoodster said, a Gtx 580 might be good, but with your budget, I bet you could fit a 670 or 680 in there.

    Getting Started

Well, if you want to use Apple's thunderbolt display, why not get the Apple Cinema Display, which uses mini display port. That way, you could use your powerfull 680 to drive all of those pixles, and keep the thunderbolt ports on your mobo open for other uses.
