What was your primary reason for building a hackintosh?

I built my first to replace a no longer upgradeable 2006 Mac Pro. I built my last as an upgrade of the first. It replaced a Mid-2011 iMac having display issues. I finally replaced the hackintosh with a 5K 27" 2015 iMac. Because this machine meets or exceeds the performance of the hackintosh the...

Need help. Cannot access the BIOS.

Many thanks for this. I will explore it once I decide to access the battery. I have switched back to my iMac running El Capitan, so right at the moment I am not motivated to fix the hackintosh. I built the box three years ago, but in those three years my fine motor skills have been affected by...

Need help. Cannot access the BIOS.

That is what I was afraid of because I must remove the GPU card to get access to the battery. Thank you for at least confirming the need to do that.

Need help. Cannot access the BIOS.

I have El Capitan installed on my GA-Z77X-UP5 TH i7-3770k system w/GTX-650 Ti Boost and 16 GBs of RAM. It was working perfectly until I made a change to my config.plist in the EFI. When I restarted I held down the F12 key in order to change the boot device. The AMD Bios splash appeared but no...

UniBeast: Install OS X El Capitan on Any Supported Intel-based PC

Thank you for a must useful link. As for the business with not posting here I would not have except that it would appear that is how this topic has become. I have watched it since it was first posted, and because the trend has been to post questions here, that is what I did. I apologize...

UniBeast: Install OS X El Capitan on Any Supported Intel-based PC

My GA-Z77X-UP5-TH system is working nicely with El Capitan with one exception. How do we patch FakeSMC with the plug-ins that provide the various sensor readings like temperatures for other things than the internal drives? These are the only temperatures reported by the FakeSMC installed for...

UniBeast: Install OS X El Capitan on Any Supported Intel-based PC

James, Yes, I did try it again and just left it. It took a tad over 20 minutes or so to finish, but it did finish. Worked fine. Needed to do a little troubleshooting after the installation, but got it working. Thank you for replying.

UniBeast: Install OS X El Capitan on Any Supported Intel-based PC

James, Did you have any success? I have tried several times and have the same problem you have. I find the USB device has only about 2.9 GBs of data stored. Far cry from the 7.5 GBs that should be there. I'm completely puzzled.

Toleda, Thank you. I did not miss them, but all of these were specified for use with Mavericks. My problem existed in Yosemite. I never had the problem in Mavericks.

No Audio After Sleep/Wake - AppleHDA Realtek Audio [Fixes]

I have this problem with Yosemite using the latest MultiBeast-Yosemite-Edition-7.1.0 software and earlier. It was worked around by installing audio driver from MultiBeast-Mavericks-Edition-6.1.0. Is any one of your posted links best for fixing this with the most recent MultiBeast editions...

Guide: Update OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite Using UniBeast and MultiBeast

Audio out from FaceTime is not working. All else is fine. Audio input works. I can see my voice being picked up by the mic and on the sound input level in Sound preferences my voice is being picked up just fine. But the audio never leaves the computer. No one I connect with via FaceTime is...

Guide: Update OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite Using UniBeast and MultiBeast

Here's what I had to do that did work. Download the separate Chimera installer and use it to install the boot loader. MultiBeast has some sort of problem installing it properly or at all despite being checked. If you still have a problem, then try the fix here...
