I tried VoodooSDHC with no luck... I did edit the Info.plist, but I don't have much knowledge with code so I don't think that will work for me.
I did see that page before, however there was no progress so I didn't expect to be able to do anything with the information there...
I have been looking around for quite a long time now, but I can't seem to find any kexts for the built-in SD card reader in my HP laptop.
According to DPCI Manager, I have a Realtek RTS5209 PCI Express Card Reader.
Is there any way I can get this working?
I'm running Mavericks 10.9.3 on my HP...
I just finished installing the 10.9.3 update, but now I can't seem to boot. I have attached an image of the kernel panic I get when I try to boot.
My system specs:
HP Pavilion g6-1d38dx Laptop
Intel Core i3-2350M / HM65
Intel HD 3000 Mobile / 1366x768x32
8GB DDR3 RAM
On 10.9.2, I was using...
I didn't have any USB options in the BIOS, but the DSDT patches seemed to do the trick! I now have all of my USB ports working properly!
Thanks so much!
Got it. Thanks.
My laptop does not have USB 3.0. It says on the HP Product Specifications page that it has 3 USB 2.0 ports. I have tried the USBBusFix option in the boot loader, but that just made all of the ports unresponsive.

OK, I removed VoodooBattery, restored to vanilla AppleACPIPlatform.kext, and patched my DSDT to enable battery status. I double-checked to make sure that my AppleACPIPlatform is v2.0.
Battery status is working fine, and Sleep is working now, too. Now the only problem is the USB ports.
I don't...
This is what I get when I check for assertions:

Assertion status system-wide:

Alright, Screen Brightness is fixed, thank you so much!
But now I seem to have a new problem... Only one of my 3 USB ports is working. I'm not sure why this happened, because they were all working fine before.
Also, Sleep is still not working. I followed the "Power Management for Sandy Bridge...
I'm experiencing random freezes now, and they seem to be related to AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement. Something about No HPETs available, and CPUs configured incorrectly.
I can't open MaciASL without it freezing, it usually happens within a few seconds after booting to the desktop.
Removing SleepEnabler seemed to work! Thanks.
I'm posting my DSDT, as I don't really know what to do... Should I use DSDT Editor or MaciASL for editing it?
***EDIT***
Sorry I keep doing this, but I found out that all I needed to do to fix the compile error was to install the TNOT Fix patch...
Thanks again for your reply, RehabMan.
I checked the link for power management; however, when I run MultiBeast, there doesn't seem to be anything in Drivers/System/Patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement other than "Apple RTC Patch for CMOS Reset". Is this the proper patch to install?
***EDIT***...
Hello,
I have succeeded in installing Mavericks on my HP Laptop, and it is almost perfect except for a few components.
Sleep:
When I try to make the computer go to sleep, the screen goes black, however, the fan continues to spin and it doesn't really seem to be in sleep mode. The login screen...
