Hi there,
I have Elitebook 8560w with full size keyboard. Function keys (volume and brightness) are working OK.
Any idea how can I disable numeric keyboard which is useless for me and use home/end/page up/page down keys instead?
Pressing num lk or fn-num lk does not seem to have any effect...
no no, I used FakePCIID (yo, man) and edited IDs as necessary.
please educate me when is DSDT _DSM change required (listed on FakePCIID source page)? or is this only cosmetic?
I got my card working without it.
all good with AR9285, 4k dump size, no strange output like I get with AR9380:
Trying EEPROM access...
OTP address out of range: 0fff
OTP address out of range: 1001
What would happen if I try to rebrand AR9285 to AR9380 to bypass whitelist, then use Clover patch to recognize card as AR9285...
atheros branch from google code behaves exactly like that, no errors, no result.
still, dump is 1024 bytes or 1k. maybe this is different for AR9380?
I will get a AR928X card and play and see if there's any difference.
interesting. the other guide on insanelymac also talked about 4k dump. strange I never got one. will go looking why.
nope. you get nowhere as regular user. can't open /dev/mem
Not sure.
I am using various versions found elsewhere, but did not modify anything myself.
Atheros branch from Google code:
two versions from here:
different iwleeprom versions either report all OK, or complain about "Write verify error", but rom does not change.
like below:
# ./iwleeprom...
Has anyone tried to rebrand AR5BXB112 (ar9380) using tools in this thread?
I need to change subsystem and subvendor ID from Apple to HP to bypass laptop's whitelist.
So far did not have much success even to read the rom.
Got a little further on Linux, but still cannot write rom back to the card.
Have you tried nv_disable=1 ?
This is how I got installation working with my Quadro 2000M (laptop card).
nv_disable=1 gives you software rendering only, should be enough for installation.

Hi,
I am trying to understand how Fermi Nvidia card routes output to two external monitors.
Let's state the obvious - NVCAP and display-cfg strings control where output goes.
The question is - what condition is required for two external monitors to work?
There is a perfect example how NVCAP...
