[Guide] Thinkpad X1 Yoga (3rd Gen) 20LD with Mojave

Glad to see the thread active. I have been using a desktop for the most part, so I have not been keeping up with the latest updates for Hackintosh on the X1Y3. Let me look through everyone's inputs and update the guide.

Of course! I have Hackintoshes on high sierra and apps + software works just fine. Not updating doesn't really do anything bad to your comp except for the occasional security updates which you may want to keep up to date. Apps will continue to work, software will continue to work. You can...

I only did it once and it has worked so far. I generally don't update for fear of breaking the comp >< I also keep a full backup of the hard disk using CCC before updating, and a copy of the EFI files on a separate bootable USB in case of kernel panic.

I don't see why not. The in-built microsd card reader works if you configure USB correctly, battery no longer drains significantly on sleep with the right ACPI changes. I have not been able to program multi gesture on the touchpad successfully, so if you need it, it'll be a bit of an...

I'm curious about the DW1830. How/where did you add the third antenna? Did you have to disconnect the LCD and route the antenna around the display like the other 2?

@bigredarthur Interesting, so usbports.kext is an alternate codeless version of SSDT-UIAC.aml. I have never used it before but definitely worth a try for a 'cleaner' DDST.aml. For those interested, here is a link to the tool. I never watched iTunes drm content before, so that wasn't on my...

Well, in the past, I had no problem with bluetooth working after 'sleep' because sleep wasn't working. With the update from @bigredarthur, I am now encountering the same issue with bluetooth. For thunderbolt, nothing appears except for "no drivers are loaded" For Geekbench score Single - 4631...

I encountered a similar problem, and I managed to somewhat solve it by fixing EDID. Have you checked out - Fixing EDID (Black screen on boot, or connected to external display)

Thanks for the update on S3 sleep @bigredarthur. Glad to hear that it is working. I'll update the repo once I get it to work too!

Looks like Lenovo isn't going to add S3 sleep as a BIOS option to the X1Y3 given that the most recent updates conveniently excluded that option... Additionally, my battery life is absolutely horrible at about 3-4 hours with normal usage on both Win and MacOS when I use the DW1560. As glad as I...

Ha, no luck with PM981 as far as I know. That's why I ended up getting the 256gb nvme option and swapped it out after. You should hold on to it though for a windows PC etc. From benchmark tests, it looks extremely speedy, and someone may figure out a way to get it to work eventually.

Keyboard backlighting works by default amazingly. Just press Fn + Spacebar. (Edit: Looks like you figured it out!)

Yup, I have been following the thread for the X1 Carbon and am aware of the BIOS update fix for the Carbon. Just waiting for the day Lenovo decides to grace us Yoga users with the same fix. From past trends, all fixes to the Carbon eventually make their way to the Yoga, albeit with some delay...

Post Install !!!!! Notes !!!!! I am listing some important steps so I don't have to repeat them too much. Add kexts to /Library/Extension aka /L/E. (Keep /System/Library/Extension pristine, don't add kext there) While you can add kexts to Clover/kexts/Other, it is not recommended for post...
