Freaking genius! Just in case, I have the same issue, but I used to solve it sending my computer to sleep and then waking it up instead of restarting it.

I have the exact same problem since I updated my OS. When I turn on the computer, I would usually log in and have no audio until my hackintosh went to sleep. Then, audio would be working fine. But now it goes away until I send Mojave to sleep again! It's super annoying.

Updated blind from 10.14.3, took around 2 hours, but after all everything is working perfectly.

For the record, I'm running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6, and installed it using the last version of Unibeast. My RAM is made of a pair of G.Skill's 8 GB DDR4 2400 MHz. Dang! I never thought it would be a problem if I moved it out of Utilities! In fact, I moved System Preferences, Disk Utility...
