The MacBook Air fits the bill for my 7 year old. He does not need more RAM and the Mac mini needs a keyboard, mouse Monitor and a desk. Remote school is a drag!

With 0.6.6 it hangs there. I fiddled with it a bit but gave up and went back to 6.5. Going to get my son a Mac book air in the coming weeks he does not need the GPU power for school as I do for work so it will give me the opportunity to see how it does so I do not feel I wasted money on...
6.6 would not boot on my system kept giving me an error I think it has to do with the AS media controller that is where it gets stuck. And that is quite a step down from a VII to a RX560... when I started my build I had an RX560 because that was the only thing on the market.
Are you using a native firmware on the Thunderbolt card? If so then I suggest looking into fishing the card with a modified firmware, if the NVM23 firmware you using is modified I would suggest changing to the NVM33 that is for the Designare motherboard. Thats the version I use on my TB3 card...
If you want a slight boost in performance you can yank your 8700k CPU and pop in a 9900k CPU. That would get you up to the base model specs of the 2019 Mac Pro. It would not be a Xeon chip but it still would be 8 core 16 threads and I think it benches higher. :)
Thunderbolt on a hack is not the same as thunderbolt on a real Mac so saying that the driver is fine on a real Mac does not make the driver not the problem. Second problem is you do not have a board that is supporting thunderbolt, I have a card working in a board that does not support...
Other then my User profile getting corrupted and behaving strangely after sleep Big Sur has given me no issues. Mojave corrupted my User profile also, maybe it because I upgraded from beta. In Catalina I did not run the beta due to Apple TV and Apple Music not working correctly..
I see no...
It is possible to get TB bus on a GC-Alpine ridge without flashing, @CaseySJ was helping people for a while to accomplish this. I never tried because my card was already modified and working in a system that did not have a TB header so I did not want to mess with it.
Sleep works great as long as I jumper 3 and 5 if I plug in the THB C header cable then sleep goes bye bye... I am totally fine with the 3-5 pin jumper. Also I am not going to modify the card in someway that I can not undo.
So no programs I take it. Right now it is running at 38c I got a web browser and email open. I was doing some raiding in wow and it never went above 70c but the raid was not really visually stunning. In most zones in wow, it runs very cool. There is one zone however that sends the card into...
@pastrychef I used VGtab to under-volt my GPU and make the fan run super speed over 70c and it seems like it runs significantly cooler is there a way to actually check that it is actually drawing less power?
