    [Solved] Mojave on Z68

Were you able to get all your SATA ports and drives working? I can't seem to get it to recognize my spinning HDDs. It keeps saying partition table unsupported although it works just fine in High Sierra

BiosBlockIO: Fix for Clover recognizing non-Intel SATA controlled Drives

Figured it out. So it turns out, if you Multibeast it then immediately upgrade Clover (to install the BIOS interrupt bootloader) it mucks up the config.plist. However, what you really need is just get a copy of "boot" binary in the EFI partition that is "mode 7" enabled. So what I did was mount...

BiosBlockIO: Fix for Clover recognizing non-Intel SATA controlled Drives

I just used this to boot into a FusionMPT SAS controller and it worked great. However when I use this method to boot Clover, the kexts are not being loaded. Any idea what's up with that?

    Gigabyte Z68P-DS3 v1.0 F9 BIOS + Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850

It was just a loose cable. Oh well, the mods moved it into "support" instead of locking the thread. If you guys can't find it in the install guide, don't blame me.

    Gigabyte Z68P-DS3 v1.0 F9 BIOS + Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850

So now that I've been installing stuff, I noticed slow SSD performance on this machine. 20MB/s read/write speed which is pretty abysmal for a Samsung 840 PRO and 850 EVO. Got about 450-500MB/s when the system was running Mavericks. Did Apple screw up 6 series SATA support?

    Gigabyte Z68P-DS3 v1.0 F9 BIOS + Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850

If your keyboard doesn't repeat when you hold down a key, try this " defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool false " Turns out Apple tried to be more like iOS and enabled those pesky pop-ups to allow choosing different variations of the key.

    Gigabyte Z68P-DS3 v1.0 F9 BIOS + Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850

Finally got this to work after much trial and error. My system - Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3 Rev 1.0 (BIOS F9) Core i5 2500K 32 GB PC1333 RAM Gigabyte AMD/ATI 6850 video card (VendorID ATI 0x1002, DevID 0x6739, RevID 0x0000) The card layout looks like this DVI -- DP -- HDMI DVI First part...

    Mavericks and Gigabyte parts SUCCESS! - GA-Z68P-DS3 / i5-2500K

Finally got it working once I realized what was wrong. Essentially the DSDT for the Z68P-DS3 F9 BIOS has the layout of the ALC889 chip wrong. I'll have a full write up in the Yosemite Desktop Guides later. El Capitan still won't boot with the latest Unibeast, will deal with it much later...

I'm having issues getting audio working with Yosemite and Clover. El Capitan refuses to boot with the Unibeast USB drive.

Realtek RTL8xxx network unstable in OS X 10.9

My network stays up and doesn't drop when using the Apple driver however with BOTH drivers, I get the problem of extremely slow network transfer. It looks like there's some sort of issue with multiplexing a connection to a specific IP. Let's say I'm transferring files to a NFS server. The...

    MultiBeast 6.1 Update

Is anyone having problems with the Realtek drivers being slow as molasses? On a Gigabyte Z68P-DS9 F9 (using F9 DSDT), everything boots fine but during a file transfer over NFS or CIFS/SMB, the transferrate is atrocious and while it is transferring, pinging the NFS/CIFS/SMB host server results...

    [SUCCESS] Maverickintosh - Z77-DS3H Rev.1.0 F9 - i5 2500K - HD6850 - 16GB - ML 10.9

Thanks that worked. Also found Intel Power Gadget for people who wants a more graphical tool. In DPCIManager, I see the 3 states - 16, 21 and 34 which corresponds to the load I generate on the system. The Intel tool has the benefit of showing both power and frequency. I draw around 7W average...

Ah ok. Looks like it doesn't really matter to my system as I think it finds power management P and C states already. Tried iMac12,1 and Macpro5,1 as well (removing the ECC memory kext) and didn't see any difference. Short of doing a MSR dump and decoding the hex values, any way to determine...

Just curious. Is there a difference between the different hardware profile? Say MacPro 3,1 and iMac 12,2.
