    Odd. Do your built in graphics work ok? You might be better sticking with that and they're probably not that much slower for most purposes.

    Download the latest Multibeast and install the FakeSMC and FakeSMC plugins and HWmonitor. If that doesn't work, install FakeSMC and not the plugins.

    Check the Buyer's Guide. You can buy a good processor and video card and still fit in that budget.

    It shows up fine on my monitor in the attached file. So it's rendering correctly, just not displaying correctly. I would try using the Color Sync adjustment to calibrate the monitor (change the gamma). Does the monitor work correctly in other OS's or on other computers, or do you know?

    For people with HD3000 artifacts... Are you using DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 or DDR3-1333 PC3-10600 speed RAM? I have the slower 1333 RAM and wondering if that is the issue. Stork has 1600 RAM in his Zorro build and has no artifacts. I'm wondering now if the RAM is the issue. Some real Mac...

    What about using built in graphics? Probably your best bet if you don't game. Just use an adapter cable.

    Try taking your overclock down a notch and see if that fixes it. Might also need to take the memory overclock down.

    Huh, I was figuring you were overclocked since the Q6600 is very common for that. But yes, that board wouldn't let you overclock so that's probably not it. Try the link for printing out the kernel panic information. See if when it freezes it will print out the kernel panic. That will help...

    Edit: If you're using a DQ965GF I think you need a DSDT and my onboard video comment is not applicable. You need to find a guide for this board.
