Apple's Policy on Apple File System (APFS) for High Sierra

That is so horrendously wrong that I suggest you educate yourself about about APFS and the features introduced with it. trs' primer above will make a good start.

Apple's Policy on Apple File System (APFS) for High Sierra

Incorrect statement. I have converted multiple spinners via disk util to APFS without issues. Right click, it'll give you the option (and it works)

Apple's Policy on Apple File System (APFS) for High Sierra

Add-on: Login in with a different user gives me the option to convert my user partition to APFS. No idea if that would create a separate 2nd container or or do the right thing and stick it in the existing one. Wasn't willing to risk it, so I back upped the user, deleted the HFS partition and...

That looks like like you have no Accel. I'm assuming it also says "Metal supported: no" in your profiler. Identifying & injecting the correct framebuffer is key, but I only have pre-R AMDs (Hamachi for my 7950s) P.S. this might better suited for the gfx section

OS X El Capitan Public Beta 2 is Now Available

Beta 2 is a non-boot for me as well. Beta 1 worked fine. I see my network driver (1000e) failed to load and then a full screen complaining about "launchd Failed to remove directory dyld_shared_cache_x" Don't install this on your Prod just yet ...
