Necro. Checking "usb ownship" and "usb injection" allowed me to continue past a stuck progress bar on Catalina, macOS 10.15.3. Strange because I didn't need it at first, until I turned off power and removed a graphics card. Messed up/reset my BIOS settings perhaps?
Installed Catalina 10.15.3 yesterday, worked fine once I went in and did the SSDT-EC fix.
Today when I try to boot, the system gets as far as loading macOS—it gets to the Apple logo and progress bar—and freezes. The progress bar does not fill in even the slightest. In verbose mode, it does not...
30.106 on 10.13.4 and 30.107 on 10.13.4 supplemental were not working for me—I had to stay on 25.106. Re-enabled SIP (CSR 0x00) and now 30.107 works well, less laggy in scrolling and QE/CI stuff (Mission Control, etc). Any ideas why this might be? I don't remember why I had SIP disabled...
I used an SSDT file in /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/. See attached my /E/C/A/patched/SSDT-3.aml, lines 117–124. Open/edit with MaciASL. I think I was lucky enough to get a basic file for my board that someone else had already put together, so I only had to tweak it a bit.
Also because I have too...
I don't want or need to use the iGPU. Having it disabled but connected is the only way I can get the discrete card to not black-screen at least one of its connected displays once I get to the login screen. I can also get full usability/acceleration from the dGPU without having the iGPU connected...
AGDPfix caused issues. Tried Lilu+LiluFriend+NGF. It now works under the following circumstances:
iGPU disabled in BIOS
iGPU (disabled!!) connected to monitor
980 Ti connected to monitors via physical DisplayPorts 2,3 on the graphics card (was using ports 1,2 before—this resulted in black...
Does not work. 378..106 driver results in same lack of acceleration as before. 387..156 driver results in same black screen as before, despite manually patched AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy (SSH works, screen sharing doesn't).
Am I right in thinking that the new NvidiaWeb feature is not working...
Bumping this. Again, I'm getting to the desktop with web driver 378..106 installed but apparently not loading properly. WebDriver pref pane shows no GPU installed.
Enabling CSM did not help; only made it so the system booted (and got to desktop) in 768p mode, instead of 1080p HiDPI (which I am...
Hi folks,
I'm having a really hard time getting 10.13.3 to work with full acceleration.
iMac17,1
Z170
Skylake 6700k
980 Ti
2x 4k monitors, DP
Using web driver 387..156, I generally can't get to desktop. SSH works, screen sharing does not. Enabling multi-GPU in BIOS and booting WITH iGPU...
Okay, so I finally looked at it again, and this line stuck out to me:
So I looked at that file's permissions, and it was at 544. Changed the permissions on that file and on the file 20703_8290.dfu in the same folder to 755; on next boot, DFU updated the firmware to 0x0119 and I have Bluetooth...
After downloading Bluetooth Explorer from the Apple dev site, I run it and get the following log:
Initializing Bluetooth...
Bluetooth Support Initialization complete.
updateChainPower error: 82
This is most likely a symptom more than anything else, but perhaps it is useful? I still think the...
Bump. Any further thoughts here? I'm intrigued by
BLUETOOTH_MODULE_REQUIRES_FIRMWARE_UPDATE() returned true and SkipBluetoothAutomaticFirmwareUpdate is not set
because this seems to imply something needs updating and that isn't happening...
Okay, after editing my USB SSDT, IOReg reports UsbConnector = 0xff on the relevant port (HS12). Still no Bluetooth options in SysPrefs. I tried setting Bluetooth on in Windows; no joy.
Grepping system.log for "bluetooth" returns the following, some of which might be interesting:
