    Alienware 17 R4 Installation Issues

You think changing the background of the lock screen will change the fuzziness? It seems as a graphics driver issue and not a background picture issue. I’ll try to get a video to help better understand the problem.

    Alienware 17 R4 Installation Issues

Yeah. If I get bored maybe I'll take out ktexts one by one to see what made the difference, or replace the AptioMemoryFix to see if that did it. Right now the key is to get everything to work. CFB44, after some research apparently dell addresses to ALC298 as ALC3266... for who knows what...

You did an upgrade though so you should’ve had the iMessage fix since Sierra. Do you also get a fuzzy screen if you don’t autologin?

My spec sheet states it's ALC3266 but I can't find anything about that :-\. Added RehabMan's ACPIBatteryManager.ktext for battery status. Still trying to figure out the fuzzy login screen. Got to patch the iMessages issue next as well.

Just shows his AptioMemoryFix is a different file and then all of his extra ktexts and him missing the USBInjectAll.ktext Still trying to resolve the fuzz. CFB44, do you have the killernetworking wireless? Also which audio do you have?

    Alienware 17 R4 Installation Issues

Not sure. Just used the clover from post in 53 and had the same issue as before. Switched back to his working Clover folder. Think it might have something to do with the extra ktexts that he has in there? Any suggestions for the fuzzy login screen?

    Alienware 17 R4 Installation Issues

Okay so for the funsies, I took CFB44's clover... changed the NvidiaWeb=True and removed the boot flag... boots up GREAT, super fast, everything in the GUI is very responsive, everything functions (aside from stuff that I have to fix like wifi, etc). The only thing I can't resolve is this fuzzy...

    Alienware 17 R4 Installation Issues

Added the NvidiaWeb=True and removed the flag from the boot line. Here's the verbose output... After about 5 seconds of that screen, it goes to the Apple logo with a loading bar, loading bar fills up all the way then it goes to never ending black screen with a cursor. Tried waiting, tried...

Then skip the Emulated NVRAM step and just use the AptioMemoryFix?

I have web drivers installed and in the boot section of config I have nvda_drv=1. Am I missing something else here? Okay let me add that in a couple once I get back from this call. Thought I just had to add nvda_drv but guess there’s more.

RehabMan, any ideas on what I should try next?

    Alienware 17 R4 Installation Issues

The last attached Clover was from my USB Drive that I was using to boot up since I couldn't get Mac OS X stable enough to navigate around and install EFI onto the SSD. Nvidia Web Drivers are installed and functional IF I get passed the login screen. So now the GUI is still very, very laggy, and...

Alienware 17r3 high sierra [need help]

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/alienware-17-r4-installation-issues.244008/ check this out, I was stuck on the similar issues and I'm a little bit ahead now. Make sure you follow RehabMan's guide to a tee, don't use UniBeast/MultiBeast for anything.

    Alienware 17 R4 Installation Issues

So I got a USB-C adapter and connected my external display. Anytime I go to boot up, it still uses the built-on screen and does not trigger the external display. Update #1: Disabling NVidia Inject (setting it to NO), got me up to the boot screen. It got caught up at the same error as before for...

Ordered the cable. Let’s hope the thunderbolt 3 port is actually connected to the Intel GPU. They need to figure out how to use Optimus with Gsync screens.
