    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I have about 3T of data. Not sure what went wrong with the HDD, but I do have an enclosure I can slap it in and hope for the best. I already have a new 6T HDD. My existing SSD (with Sonoma but not user folder on it) is 500g, which is potentially plenty for my system, OS, apps, and user folder...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

My HDD with my user folder and data has failed. It also had a partition with a bootable backup. My 500gb sdd has my OS and apps on it. It will boot into recovery. It won't boot with the failed HDD plugged it, but will boot as a different user if the failed drive is unplugged. I also have a...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I booted my hdd backup, mounted the SSD efi and opened the config.plist with OC Configurator. SecureBootModel is already set to "Disabled". UPDATE: My backup is acting weird. I reentered recovery mode and ran first aid on my hdd, which failed. Maybe I'm having a hard drive failure?

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I booted into 14.4.1 Recovery and reinstalled. Afterwards I tried to boot and there was no change. It still freezes 3/4 of the way through. I tried booting in verbose mode, but partway through it blanks, then shows the progress bar again. I also tried resetting NVRAM.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I screwed up. I decided to dump Avast antivirus. In its place I installed Silentknight2 from eclecticlight and ignorantly used it to update xprotect and xpr. It may have done other stuff too. Whatever it did, now I can't boot from my Sonoma 14.4.1 ssd. I can boot from my backup hdd, which is...

Where is the guide for entering bootflags from the picker in Opencore?

Verbose mode worked until about 1/4 of the way through the boot, then the screen blanked and flashed back to a progress bar. I gave up and managed to boot from a backup. I'll try to fix my problems from there. I'm giving up on trying to understand openshell.

Where is the guide for entering bootflags from the picker in Opencore?

No idea. Googling this set of words gave me nothing. Hitting cmd-v did nothing so far as I could tell. Please direct me to the guide on how to do this with openshell. I've been unable to locate it. If I edit the config.plist won't it be permanent??

Where is the guide for entering bootflags from the picker in Opencore?

I was screwing around and now my Hackintosh freezes 3/4 of the way through the boot. I want to enable verbose (-v) and safety mode (-x), but I don't know how to do it in Opencore. I pressed the spacebar and found OpenShell, but now I have no idea what to do. I can't find the videos / guide on...

<< Solved >> Partition map needs to be repaired. Recovery mode??

You're right about all that. I normally boot from "Duke" on the SSD. The backup drive "Duke CC" is a partition of the 8TB HDD with the other partition being George V (data). Your code WORKED! The ESP on the backup drive is now showing all 206.5 MB as usable. I copied over the EFI folder. Duke...

<< Solved >> Partition map needs to be repaired. Recovery mode??

Yes, I ran "diskutil list" and the results are attached (as above). The reason I think that disk2s1 is the problem is that when I mount the ESP it is labled EFI-ST8-DL6
