Hey again. So I have kind of alarming temps with ffmpeg, and I've made a topic here : https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/i9-9900k-temps-a-hot-topic.268492/#post-1881249
It's with 9900K but the problem should happen with 9700K too…
As you can see, there's a Thunderbolt thingy in my IORegistryExplorer, but my USBC drive isn't recognised. Maybe that's because it's only USBC and not thunderbolt ?
Nope, it was already set when I first tried it.
Oh boy this little i9 9900k is impressive. An MP4 encoding is more than twice as fast as my i7 8700K oO !
Do you think the drops in the Power and Frequency are normal (check the screenshot) ? I can feel that sometimes the machine is kind of...
@CaseySJ I was also forced to used the modified plist you gave to the other user. Maybe you can add it to the original post (or at least explain the modification you’ve made)? It was a life saver !
Oh no but now it’s working ! I believe it’s just a matter of having any kind of audio configured. I’ll stress test it much more tomorrow to be sure everything is all set. Also my USB-C external drive wasn’t recognized through the thunderbolt port so I need to investigate that point. Anyway...
Edit : OK. For an absolutely unknown reason, MP4 wouldn't quick preview itself until my USB sound card was plugged in… I have no idea why, but it's all fixed =)
Yeah I know, but I tried everything I could and still no luck… So I’d rather take a much more documented mobo instead. But just to be sure, you’ve got no issue with h264 quick look and full FCPX accelerated right ?
Here comes a new challenger ! After a week trying to make UHD630 work on Aorus z390 pro, I’m moving on to your mobo, since the EFI and the very precise guide should make my build effortless. Anyway, I let you know if I get into trouble! I’ll be on an i9 9900K and a RX580 Pusle from Sapphire, do...
Oh my god, APFS is the WORSE ! I'm starting from scratch from a HFS+, Clover is working normally for now. Even my stupid "Couldn't allocate runtime area is gone" error is gone. Guys, seriously, don't go APFS, at least for now…
Yep I'm extra careful about that, due to some USB backup stick erased by mistakes because of bad mounts. But I think it has something to do with APFS. I've just copied a drivers64UEFI folder for exemple, it's appearing in the finder, but one reboot and the files aren't there anymore… I have to...
