It is always much appreciated. I went ahead and made my own guide post about this laptop. Though i have limited time right now so i can't finish testing too soon. The internal mic and backlight control are two major things left to do.
This guide assumes you are installing from scratch !
This guide is for the Acer Aspire v3-372
My Configuration:
Intel Core i3-6157u
8GB DDR3l RAM (16GB+ strongly advised for heavy graphics use due to the iris 550 taking up to 4157 mb of your system RAM, will upgrade this as well)
128GB SSD...
The fix I mentioned only applies to SMBIOS imac17,1 or higher. In your case it would be unnecessary. However it is generally adviced to match your SMBIOS to your hardware, so imac17,1 + black screen fix would be more appropriate for your setup.
I've heard about AMD and Intel gpus being somewhat cumbersome to get to work. Unfortunately I don't have one around so I can't share my experience. The black screen fix from my guide post should still be needed though. You might have more luck with High Sierra which I will make a guide for when...
Would you kindly provide your clover folder or explain how you got everything working. Just got my graphics glitches on 10.12.6 sorted out. Working on backlight and audio now.
Odd, I've actually already tried all possible darkwake options. Could you please provide build details and your clover folder for me to compare ? Remember to change your generated serial number if you have done that.
Edit: never mind. You seem to have a Z270 board. On those sleep works for most...
Hey there. Could you tell me how exactly you went about your macOS installation, specifically the patching like your customized usbInjectAll ? I just got the same laptop and i would like to add a guide post for it. Thanks in advance.
Updated to 10.12.5 by now, this time the deprecated setting NVDA_DRV=1 needed to be enabled again in order for the Nvidia Web Drivers to load. Strange. No big deal tho. I had no issues other than that.
In order to do anything properly to your dsdt i need all your SSDT.aml and the original DSDT.aml
Also I've tried virtually all fixes I could find or have ever heard of so I doubt this would change anything for you.
The rx480 will definitely need some workarounds to get working properly. You should also disconnect your windows drive during the install. If you want to use your rx480 have a look into the forums, go ahead and try installing with the windows sad disconnected.
