I found this resource and, after about 30mins, have successfully gotten my ports mapped properly. I am in the process of testing whether this has helped with sleep etc.
I hope you find it of use - it's much simpler than other methods I was trying to understand.
rna23 - did you manage to generate the SSDT with this - I am having similar problems regarding sleep and wake and am thinking that I need to properly map the USB's to solve. Struggling through the descriptions on how to do this...
I upgraded to HS thinking that I would be headed for a better life with my 1060 6GB. Turns out not to be so. Same issues and now the 'hot corner put display to sleep' fix no longer works. Considering just getting rid of the 1060 and replacing with something that works - any recommendations?
Eightball8 - what did you end up doing / getting here? I have been living with the 1060 screen scrambling for about 6 months and, after finally updating to High Sierra on a new disk, and finding the issue is still there, am about to swap it for something else. Especially now that the 'put...
Question about drives - I have three - boot drive is EVO 250GB, I have an NVME that I use for recent photo editing (500GB) and a 1TB HDD. If I upgrade, what happens to the file system on each drive:AFS on the EVO and NVME, HDD unchanged or some other combination ?
Thanks!
I implemented the workaround that others have suggested - In settings / Mission Control, set one of the 'Hot Corners' as 'put display to sleep'. When Mac wakes from sleep and has some screen funk going on, I just move mouse to hot corner, screen sleeps and then immediately wakes up 'fixed'...
Thanks very much - followed the guide and all went well.
iMessage sent out it's first successful message shortly thereafter!
Thanks again!

I recently built my Hackintosh. Think profile has details but basically the CustomMac Pro with 32GB ram, Nvidia 1060 6GB graphics card and I6700K CPU. Have boot SSD but have my Lightroom catalog and photos that I am...
I've just built my first Hackintosh. It's been a good experience and one that might have been a little easier had I spent more time reading the motherboard manual. That said, it's all up and running and appears to be fine from boot.
My main issues is that once the computer sleeps, the screen...
I have just built my first Hackintosh. Gigabyte z170 with Nvidia EVGA 1060 6GB. Have managed to get everything working over the last week apart from this last issue. Upon coming back from a sleep, screen is messed up. The fix for me is just to pull the cable out of the DisplayPort and put it...
Hi,
New to all of this but keen to put a system together that will serve predominantly photo editing purposes. May also use it to run some numerical simulation software that is CPU heavy but will require a Windows partition.
Anyway - main question...
I've noticed a lot of discussion around...
