@elmacci I know you dont have the blade stealth anymore but I recall you mentioned you used opencore at one point. Im considering using opencore on a new ice lake blade can you share your opencore efi?
I'll probably keep this thread open and possibly update it when I get my new blade with the 10th gen intel chipset.
I doubt that hackintosh will die out, maybe if Apple moves to ARM or if they start making their own processors like it was back in the PowerPC days. Just a few years back everyone...
I see, Im actually going to sell mine as well but will be getting the new stealth with the 120hz display. I dont mind eventually losing the ability to hackintosh in the future just because I feel like Apple is such a rip off. Paying top spec prices for an entry level machine that has an Apple...
If Mojave already worked for you then you should try updating to Catalina using your working Mojave EFI first. There are only a few things that could cause a conflict in Catalina. I would suggest trying your working Mojave EFI first then prep it for Catalina by moving all your kexts to the EFI...
The 4k early 2019 model has the same processor so in theory you should be fine using my EFI. You can follow stonevil's guide for dsdt/ssdt patching but I would assume that you will need to tweak your config.plist for your 4k resolution and you will need to modify your dsdt patch if you want...
No worries. I’m glad it works for you. I cant take credit for everything though - most of the information is already out there I just had a lot of spare time to do trial and error and configure the files for use on the stealth.
If you are getting kernel panics when plugging in a device via the USB C or TB3 port then maybe you did not include the TB3 ssdts we included on our EFIs. Both @elmacci and I used similar ssdts to get the type c and TB3 ports working without KPs. The platform IDs should have nothing to do with...
Unlocking the bios does not make a difference at least in my use case. Disabling Thunderbolt security is only necessary if you mean to use the TB3 port for actual TB3 devices such as an external GPU or a TB3 display. Have you tried both USB c ports when plugging your device in after sleep?
If you are using my EFI then you should first put the blade to sleep then wake it up before plugging in you usbc dongle or whatever it is you are plugging to your usbc to get the display to work.
@elmacci I have had only one change since we last exchanged information. I use the one key hidipi bash from below:
https://github.com/xzhih/one-key-hidpi
This gives me better resolution and well proportioned scaling. Word of warning though you should back up with Carbon Copy Cleaner, I heard...
@Copperboy100 and @evanrodge - I strongly recommend you both consider patching your own DSDTs even if mine or @elmacci works.
Note as well that my configuration is geared towards keeping third party kexts in clover and keeping the macOS system folder "clean".
Not sure if this has been asked...
No apologies needed, This forum was meant to get people help :)
Trackpad - You need to patch your dsdt and then install voodooI2C kexts. You can use my EFI but you will need to patch your DSDT as this varies per machine and configuration.
Sound - Mine did not work by installing AppleALC and...
