    Asus X299 - Support

@pieropontra, Have you updated to 10.15.4? If so, were there any changes in Clover, etc., required moving from 10.15.3? Thanks!

    X299 - Open Core support

Add the SSDT-EC.aml file to /EFI/OC/ACPI folder. Then add (I use Xcode) an entry to your config.plist file in the Add section of ACPI like this:

    Asus X299 - Catalina Support

I believe the AppleACPIEC.kext looks for/depends on the embedded controller being named "EC" but most boards don't name their embedded controller as such, so the boot process fails. Adding this SSDT file creates a face EC device on desktops.

    X299 - Open Core support

Hey @pieropontra, I have the same board and just updated to BIOS 2002. After the upgrade, my system would boot but most of my USB ports didn't work. I had to turn 4G Decoding ON, which was previously turned off, and everything went back to normal. I'm not running OC full-time, so I guess there...

    X299 - Open Core support

Here you go. I started with KGP's version and then modified it to suit my needs. I don't use a lot of USB ports, so I can't recall which ones I turned off. I can dig back into this if you need more info. I believe the manual for our MB has a good description of which ports are which.

    X299 - Open Core support

@Junologue, I have the same MB and have been contemplating the move to OC as well but like @pieropontra I have a very stable Clover build that is doing everything I want right now. If you would be willing to post your OC EFI folder, I would greatly appreciate it. I know moving to OC will be the...

    Asus X299 - Catalina Support

Do you have SSDT-EC.aml installed in your Clover > ACPI > Patched directory? It's required to boot Catalina.

Do the 109XX CPUs work with any of the first gen boards, eg. Asus Prime X299-A?

    Asus X299 - Support

I'm running a 4.7GHz OC on my rig and all is stable. I have the OverVolt jumper set and do a mild voltage bump. I could probably run a higher OC but would need to significantly up my cooling apparatus, so I'm happy with the current configuration. Personally, I have no issues with this...

    Asus X299 - Support

Here are some relevant screen shots from the manual for the Prime X299-A. Both appear to be PCIe. Personally, I use the vertical one (M.2_2), as it provides better cooling. I do have a lot of SATA drives, so I did run into an issue with those ports being shared with one of the PCIe slots and had...

    Asus X299 - Support

Quick question, when I plug my iPad into my hack with a high speed USB-C cable, I get this error message: I've read that this problem is usually solved by resetting one's SMC (zapping the PRAM). However, I don't believe such an action works on hacks. Could someone please enlighten me here...

Similarly, Novabench is showing a low CPU score for my system (compared with GB and CB):

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

We tried all 3 DisplayPorts and they all end up with the same black screen. I turned on verbose logging and the boot process seems to die with a gIOScreenLockState value of 3. When I have seen this in the past, it was an Aptio memory issue, which I thought was solved by the latest...

    pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Happy New Year! I'm posting this question for my sister. We upgraded her GPU from an Nvidia 1050Ti to Gigabyte Radeon RX Vega 56 Gaming OC 8G Graphic Card. It makes it all the way through the boot process until the very end and then when the progress bar is almost finished, the monitor blinks...
