Guide: Multibooting UEFI on Separate Drives

You can resolve this by creating a tiny HFS partition on the Linux drive and add an entry to your fstab so it doesn't get mounted. I called mine "OSXSHH" :D.

Do you own a real Mac?

I was provided a Macbook for work that actually matches pretty closely the specs and power of my desktop (for what was probably 3x the cost), but I haven't bought an Apple device in several years. My Hackintosh has been a workhorse for a while, and probably will continue to be for a while.

    Flashing screen Z87X-UD3H i7-4770k GT-640 2GB DDR5

Uh-oh. I'm having the same problem with the same video card with a pair of HDMI monitors I just bought. Did you ever solve this?

    OS X 10.9.5 Update

I'm passing on this one. I had a disaster befall me when I tried the 10.9.4 update and had to wipe and reinstall. I am curious about the SMB improvements - has anyone seen better performance with SMB on this version?

Monitor Your Disk Space Usage Easily With Disk Inventory X

I was just about to comment that this looks a LOT like Grand Perspective. I use both that and OmniDiskSweeper, though this looks like basically a combo of both. Cool app.

Triple Boot with Ubuntu, Win7, Mac - Linux drives try to mount in OS X, how to stop?

Fair point, I guess - aesthetics, mostly. The idea (in my head, anyway) was that whenever you log into each OS, you only see drives related to that system, rather than the real "mess" going on behind the scenes. I also have a network server that shares files, among other things, to everything...

Triple Boot with Ubuntu, Win7, Mac - Linux drives try to mount in OS X, how to stop?

That did work, I no longer get the error. However, the partition doesn't have a UUID, and I can't figure out how to prevent it from mounting otherwise. Thoughts?

Triple Boot with Ubuntu, Win7, Mac - Linux drives try to mount in OS X, how to stop?

I'll try that, but wouldn't it still complain about not being able to mount the Linux drive anyway?

Triple Boot with Ubuntu, Win7, Mac - Linux drives try to mount in OS X, how to stop?

My Hackintosh is triple booted and running smoothly. However, whenever I boot into OS X, it gives me a "this disk could not be initialized" error as it tries to mount the Linux drives. I know editing fstab will work, and I've done so successfully for the Win7 drives, but I'm having some...

[GUIDE][ALPHA] How to Access Your Windows 7 Boot from ML Without Rebooting Using VirtualBox

First problem - it recognizes it as having new hardware so any hardware-specific applications have problems, including the OS.

[GUIDE][ALPHA] How to Access Your Windows 7 Boot from ML Without Rebooting Using VirtualBox

ALPHA PREVIEW: This is my first guide, and my first run at this guide in particular. It's possible I missed a step, was unclear about something, or otherwise messed up. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you read through the resources I posted first to get a sense of how I built this. Also, if some of the...

Backup Solutions For Your Mac or CustoMac

Article: Backup Solutions For Your Mac or CustoMac I would like to do something like this for the Windows boot - does anyone have any recommendations for doing this in Windows (incremental backup, bootable backup)?

    USB 3 Not working

I have the same motherboard as he does, have no installed the USB 3 kexts nor LaCie drivers you mentioned, and also have the same problems with my USB 3 drives as mentioned here. I was under the impression that they just don't work (yet), but should they for this motherboard (Z77-DS3H)?

    Boot Camp-style Default OS Boot

I'm actually inclined to think it should be the opposite - the only time I reboot is when I'm switching OSes, so I would think it should just switch automatically. But that's just me :)

Guide - Fusion Drive using tonymacx86 Tools & Chimera

Interesting - curious if when you boot into Windows if it appears as one or two drives (or even three, I suppose). Right now, I just have OS X and Win7 on a single 1TB drive, but considering getting a 128GB SSD and a 3TB HDD to FusionDrive (or perhaps getting 2 SSDs, using one for Windows and...
