Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I was using pastrychef’s as is with only my id stuff dropped in. I haven’t tried the other one…and I probably won’t. Mac Mini arrives on Tuesday.

Thanks guys. I still can’t get it to work. It’s been rock solid for years and I owe it all to you pastrychef and the rest of the group. But I think it’s time for me to just buy my M2 Pro Mac Mini and bid farewell to the hackintosh. I just don’t have the time anymore. It’s been a fun ride.

Thanks for getting back. Is there a way to save -v output to a file? So much text flies by I can’t read it even in a video. Then when it freezes it flips to the Apple logo on a black screen and all the text is gone.

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I think I need some help. After updating to OC 0.9.0 and backing up in preparation going to macOS 13.3, I no longer got the upgrade option in Software Update. Previously when this happened, I changed the secure boot option to Default from Disabled. This worked and I proceeded to download and...

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I tried this and it does seem to work on OC 0.8.7 and Ventura 13.1. Note the discussion and how it is picky from OS version to OS version https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/345414-solved-sata-hot-plug-not-working-in-big-sur/ EDIT: Turns out this does NOT really work. Spotlight seems to...

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

My USB drive dock that I use for backup recently became wonky, and I decided to replace it with a 3.5" hot plugable bay in a 5.25" slot of my case. But it is not hot plugable. I have to reboot to get the drive. It's is set as hot plugable in BIOS. Any tips on how to make that work? All I could...

It may seem silly, but did you turn Bluetooth on in System Preferences? Your screenshot looks like mine when I turn Bluetooth off.

Thanks anyway. I found one place that said the applying next MacOS update made the message go away. That’s not to say the update actually fixed anything. It just refreshed something. Fingers crossed that will work for me.

Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I've got a weird new (for me) problem. I got a new Benq SW270C monitor and installed its calibration software. This monitor has hardware calibration so after calibration it writes the LUT file to the monitor's hardware. During the writing of this LUT file the computer crashed and restarted. I...

I backed up and updated my OpenCore to 0.7.7 to get ready but I'm not seeing the update in Software Update. Not sure why. I guess I'll check again tomorrow.

I had this exact problem. I can’t recall how I stumbled onto the solution but I disabled OpenUsbKbDxe.efi driver and the problem went away.
