    Multi Beast Unsuccessful/No DSDT

What version of MultiBeast are you using and what options did you select? For your motherboard: select the option for Realtek ALC887 audio instead of VoodooHDA. After MultiBeast runs, look in your /Extra folder. There should be a file called org.chameleon.Boot.plist If you do not see...

    How to Acquire Mountain Lion

On Apple's website, go to: http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion It will take a day or two for them to send you an e-mail with a code for the App Store. Go to the App Store and go to the Redeem Code screen, enter in the code you were sent, and it will let you download...

Xeon 6 core processor is showing although I have i7 4930k

For Socket 2011, the i7 CPUs are basically Xeons with some features disabled. Since Apple only uses Socket 2011 Xeons and not i7s, that's what OS X is displaying. It's nothing to worry about.

    GA - Z77X - UD5H - Won't Boot - Spinning Wheel Freezes - OSX MOUNTAIN LION/MAVERICKS

Try running a memory test or only using one stick of RAM at a time. If your RAM checks out, try a different power supply if you have one.

    GA-P35-DS4 Audio problems (ALC889a)

The board model listed in your user profile does not match the board listed in your thread title. Do you have the P35 or the EP35? If the P35, what revision of the board? Solve the BIOS reset problem first before worrying about audio. Did you install the ElliottForceLegacyRTC kext using...

No Audio Devices - Realtek ALC AppleHDA [Guide]

Hi toleda, I just wanted to thank you for your guide. I installed 10.9.5 on my old Socket 775 system and my System Preferences/Sound/Output showed no audio output devices. I thought I could get away with no DSDT, but IOReg showed AZAL instead of HDEF. I was able to use MaciASL and...

Problem with HD 4600 Graphics. Recognized, but no Kext loaded.

There are some errors in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist: <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string> PCIRootUID=1</string> PCIRootUID should not be under Kernel Flags, it should have its own key. Like this: <key>PCIRootUID</key> <string>0</string> Try 0 for the value first...

2013 Mac Pro Announced at WWDC

Ivy Bridge-EP CPU? I'm interested to see how Apple plans to cool all these components crammed into such a small space, and how loud said cooling system will be. I know some professional video people who use PCIe cards with SDI and ASI ports. They will not like having to buy a...

Is there any use for pre OSX systems?

I have some really old Mac games that do not work in OS X. I tried running them in Classic mode in 10.4, but the video acceleration sucks. As a result I have a dual-boot G4 with 9.2.2 and 10.4, works great.

Did hackintoshing lead you to buy from Apple again?

Not at all. Back when Macs had PowerPC processors you were kind of stuck buying Apple hardware. Now that they switched to Intel x86 it's much easier to build a hackintosh. Apple's hardware designs used to be really interesting like the G4 cube and the iMacs with the monitor on the pole...

Who here is from the Good Old PowerPC days?

Going through school in the 1990s I've used many a Mac. Apple IIe Mac Plus Mac Classic Mac Classic II LC II LC III LC 580 Power Macintosh 5200 LC Power Macintosh G3 All-In-One iMac G3 I've used OS 6, 7.1, 7.5, 7.5.3, 7.5.5, 7.6, and 8.1. 7.5.5 and 8 were my favorites. 7.1 was ok, but I hated...

    What keyboard/mouse do you use?

Just plug it in and go, no additional software required. Left and right buttons, scroll wheel, wheel button, and dpi adjust buttons work. Buttons 4 and 5 (on the left side of the mouse) don't have any additional functions and behave the same as pressing the wheel button. Normally buttons 4 and...

Standard (white plastic) Apple wired keyboard with a Logitech MX518 mouse. I like the adjustable dpi setting on the mouse.
