[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

Greetings and a big thank you for all the hard works and very explicit guide. I had a fairly stable Yosemite install with the previous method until a bios update killed the OS. I decided to to give el capitan a try with the Clover hot-patch method. I have an Elitebook 840 G1 with an i7 4600m and...

    Gigabyte X99P-SLI Motherboard with Broadwell-E 6800k, some success/some problems

I can say that I have everything working fairly adequately with this board. I am using it with an ES Xeon (10 core no HT) but no NVME - I use for booting windows. The main challenges I found were the OsxAptioFixDrv problems which is clearly explained and solved in the following page...

Memory Not Correct in "About This Mac"

I actually entered the data manually. I only made it work once I entered the number of slots and put the memory data on the actual slots I had the memory on. Remember to fill in all of the information - even with just unknown. Hope it helps other people.

Memory Not Correct in "About This Mac"

I have the exact same problem with an X99 build where I am using 16gb DDR4 sticks. I think it has to do with the size of the memory sticks. I have not been able to get them to show correctly you can also check on the activity monitor and you will see that the memory detection/use is also wrong...

    Gigabyte X99P-SLI Motherboard with Broadwell-E 6800k, some success/some problems

There appear to be no errors on it. May I ask how you got past the osxaptiofix error to boot this board? I was trying all afternoon following the recommended fixes on the internet and had no luck.

    ZFS anyone ?

No compatibility in IT mode. Your best bet is an ATTO HBA.

    ZFS anyone ?

+1 user of ZFS. I am using openZFS 1.31 on a Supermicro X9SRL-f with 64GB RDIMM. So far so good. Works really fast and very good. I have exported to freeNAS 9.3 and works w/o problems. I am using an Areca arc-1680ix 16 as HBA - JBOD mode.

Radeon HD 7750 XFX glitchy after 10.10.3 Update

May I ask how you came up with the solution. This is a very helpful tip. Thank you very much. I was hitting my head against the wall trying to fix this.

    Which kexts for an X9SRL-F / Xeon E5 2665 / 128GB / c602 chipset?

I have mine pretty much running smoothly. Doing some additional testing and installing OS X 10.10.3 right now. Will probably write up a guide since I do not see one anywhere. Clover works much better than Chimera/Chameleon. Needs boot args on initial boot: -v npci=0x2000 cpus=1 Follow Asus...

Update HP Laptops to Yosemite with Clover UEFI

+1 on the bios password. You will likely need to contact HP or your IT department for this. Do not know how to do it otherwise. It is technically possible with Chimera/Chameleon but a lot more difficult. Good luck.
