Not true. The download was 12GB and I went through the app store. Once I selected it there, the download progress bar showed up in "Software Update"
Maybe the download failed and it reverted to the 2GB one. Will try again.
If you suggest that it's going to be there in the Applications folder...
Quick question:
I downloaded Big Sur 11.1 and it says it's ready to update - but I can't see a macOS application in the Applications folder. I would like to back the installer up as per previous versions of macOS.
What's going on here?
Updated all relevant kexts (lilu, whatevergreen, and AppleALC) to the old folders and updated (selecting the install disk on reboot)
Sound is still gone for me, so I assume I have to move the kexts into a new location (/EFI)
Trouble for me is I can't see /EFI anywhere, but I see...
Upgraded from 15.0 to 15.1 normally didn't work. PC rebooted into 15.0
Upgraded Clover from 5070 to 5098. Now the system was able to upgrade, however sound wasn't working.
Used KextBeast to upgrade AppleALC to 1.4.3, upon reboot it still wasn't working
Used KextBeast to upgrade Lilu to 1.3.9...
Did not update clover, and upon reboot the computer attempted to boot from the installer preboot partition to drive the install - but it hung with the progress bar and Apple logo. It complained about "unsupported CPU" or something when I turned on verbose from clover.
