    X58 + Xeon X5675 needs SpeedStep off going from 12.2 to 12.3+

Thanks, interesting to know Sonoma doesn't need these anymore.

    Am I stuck on Monterey?

    And Bluetooth still doesn't work?

    Am I stuck on Monterey?

You lost Bluetooth because it's a USB1.1 device. I tried the USB1.1 root patches from OCLP, to no avail. What you need to do is use a USB2 Hub and connect the Bluetooth module via the HUB. you can you use a mix of internal/external adapters or make your own connector (essentially MB USB header...

    Am I stuck on Monterey?

Not a problem at all to run Ventura on your system. You'll need to use a more recent SMBIOS and spoof the iGPU if you still want to use it. Otherwise you can completely disable it, rely on the RX580 only and switch to something like a MacPro7,1 SMBIOS. I recommend checking this...

    Asus Rampage II Extreme

Forget about all your Nvidia cards, Apple stopped using Nvidia a long time ago, hence why support after High Sierra is non existent (apart from experimental patching of web drivers via OCLP). You can get a second hand RX580 for cheap.

    Asus Rampage II Extreme

Blinking cursor means you haven’t used the legacy bios method to install Opencore. X58s are not UEFI. While you can patch the GTX970 using OCLP, this is still experimental. Unfortunately with these CPUs your only viable choice is an RX570 or 580 that you will still need to patch and I remove...

Anybody get Ventura installed & working on old guard EX58 or X58 system?

@RandomNumber no worries, I described a bit more what steps are required here https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/x58-xeon-x5675-needs-speedstep-off-going-from-12-2-to-12-3.322842/post-2384643

    X58 + Xeon X5675 needs SpeedStep off going from 12.2 to 12.3+

So, back to my X58 build, I finally decided to try Ventura on the Sabertooth, which is my test setup. Prior to upgrading the OS, I upgraded Opencore to 0.9.5, changed my SMBios to MacPro7,1 and checked that everything was still running fine. Turbo was still OK after changing the 6,1 reference...

Anybody get Ventura installed & working on old guard EX58 or X58 system?

Now trying to get Turbo back on (was OK with my modified ASPP-Override, SMBIOS set to MacPro 7,1, in Monterey, so a bit puzlling), Bluetooth (my Fenvi card has USB1.1 Bluetooth and OPLC patch doesn't fix it, it "sees" the card but can't turn it on, I'm going the USB 2.0 hub route (internal...

Anybody get Ventura installed & working on old guard EX58 or X58 system?

Well, after removing the old AVXpel patches I had for Monterey, it worked! I'm now using NoAVXFSCompressionTypeZlib-AVXpel.kext Of course CryptexFixup.kext is also mandatory.

Anybody get Ventura installed & working on old guard EX58 or X58 system?

@RandomNumber Did you use Cryptexfixup.kext? I’m trying to install Ventura on an Asus Sabertooth + X5675 but failing in a similar way after install is completed. I’m not sure it actually triggered and will try again forcing it. This was my first attempt with Ventura, but I’ve been Hackintoshing...

    X58 + Xeon X5675 needs SpeedStep off going from 12.2 to 12.3+

No, that's right. VirtualSMC is supposed to be "better" but I used to get the CPU multipliers out of fakesmc when I was still running Clover. I don't know the cons of using Fakesmc with Opencore. I reckon the main issue is those X58 chipsets and 10+ year old CPUs are no getting much love with...

    X58 + Xeon X5675 needs SpeedStep off going from 12.2 to 12.3+

You still get stuff like hardware VP9 decoding with the RX5xxx and RX6xxxx series. I never managed to get Power Gadget to run... and I tried a LOT of versions.

Yep, you definitely have turbo working now.

    X58 + Xeon X5675 needs SpeedStep off going from 12.2 to 12.3+

6,1 to 7,1 => Yep that's what I did in the kext I provided, seems like you have P-States working now. What do you get in powermetrics now? Ventura support involves a lot of root patching and AMD Navi is still not supported so you can't upgrade your GPU to the RX 5xxx/6xxx series. I don't...
