I am having trouble installing. Advice for new build for editing and gaming

haha... yes, I meant an i9-9900K, but I am also considering the i7-9700K. Looks like it is not much of a difference in terms of performance and saves me around £160.

    Catalina is performing extremely slow

Thanks both! I thought on disabling sleep as a real option, it wouldn't really bother me not to have it. However, several issues remain unstable that really concerns me. To make a list: - Downloading and installing the game WOW always give me a system error. So far I haven't been able to even...

    Catalina is performing extremely slow

You are right, irz. My scores after wake up drop drastically from CPU 843 to 562. Initially, I realized my Catalina wasn't waking up, so I followed a post that suggested to disable the ports in BIOS. So I did and wake works not, however now it awakes to a very slow system. Have you found any...

    Catalina is performing extremely slow

Great Gigamax! I've made the changes you spotted out with very good results. Not sure what it exactly was, if the Smbios, the XMP or the Z390 correction, which by the way was already disabled. Anyway, after changing these 3 items the speed of the system and the scores have increased...

    Catalina is performing extremely slow

Alright... I wasn't sure how to give some scores. I downloaded the Geekbench version you told me, and these are the scores for CPU, GPU OpenCL and GPU Metal. Please let me know if there is anything else needed to investigate the case. Thanks!

    Catalina is performing extremely slow

Hello. Looking for some help here. I've just updated to Catalina (using USB bootloader method), plus updated my old GPU to a Sapphire RX 5700xt Nitro+. I thought the improvement was going to be obvious, but instead Catalina is performing terribly much more slower than Mojave even with my old...

High Sierra installer reboot in apple logo and progress bar

Gutted! That makes sense. Now, do you have any idea why I have the same problem when trying to install High Sierra in a Samsung SSD 830? I used the same USB installer, and the result is again a loop boot when progress bar is either in 18, 17 or 11 minutes remaining. It makes sense as you said...

High Sierra installer reboot in apple logo and progress bar

Thanks BreBo! I read that post before. However I have also seen a post of someone who made it work when installing Mojave. Samsung EVO 970 Plus that wouldn't explain why I get exactly the same loop boot when installing in the Samsung SSD SATA. Any other ideas?
