    Todays security update broke booting

No reason to now, there was already an update to support new build. https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/387/WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.129.pkg

    Todays security update broke booting

Those are easy to fix, just run the script that modifies them to load on new build number

    Todays security update broke booting

I'm unable to identify cause, standard useless hang in verbose mode iostatelock or whatever that message is. Yes I've already checked nvidia driver. I've updated enough times to know how to deal with that. It's something new. New to todays security update that broke some unknown componant and I...

Nvidia Drivers for Mojave 10.14 Not Available, no WorkAround works well

People need to STOP posting gpus that work on STOCK (built in driver) and then telling others their <insert work around for web driver that doesn't work>. If you don't understand by now that any nvidia GPU before maxwell, WORKS on stock driver in 10.14.x, you shouldn't be "helping" others.

    [Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

Doing some testing and review, the Intel exploit press release today, is patched by microcode version B4 (180) for 8700K. I did some checking of macOS microcode version and with 10.14.5 or 10.13.6 with security update installed, sysctl -a | grep microcode does indeed return "180". If you are...

FIX for boot hangs after BIOS update (ACPI PATCH)

Apply it BEFORE, or you won't be able to boot. With patch already in place, i update bios and things were just smooth (well once I redid bios settings correctly)

FIX for boot hangs after BIOS update (ACPI PATCH)

This thread is probably gonna blow up soon, I'm hearing that bios updates for just about all board vendors are going to trigger this. This patch should probably make it baseline into clover at this point. It should be detected and auto patched because the change that causes this on just about...

    [Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

Yes, also on F13 (modded) with that patch. That's exactly what I was waiting for. I know some were using F12 and F13 using custom DSDT patches, but I prefer to automate patching with Clover so they persist through bios updates and the likes (you're supposed to redo a DSDT every bios update). I...

    [Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

You just get from here jiffy. https://www.win-raid.com/t3217f44-OFFER-Gigabyte-GA-Z-Aorus-Gaming-BIOS-mod.html Get the modded F11 update 5 to have no issues. Even the modded F12 and f13 won't work without fixing the APCI errors with a custom DSDT. Remember, after flash redo settings, you can...

My understanding is you CAN make F12 and even 13 work with a custom DSDT to remove the bad nonsense. But I prefer clover hot patching myself. I wonder what an ACPI hot patch would look like to remove/fix the PCIO stuff

Another new one so soon? wonder if they fixed ACPI errors

Someone on F11 do me a favor run this sysctl -a | grep microcode It should report microcode version. Mine reports 174. it depends on CPU though, that's latest for 8700k.

And done. On a modded F11 with all latest CPU microcode updates that patch all latest meltdown and spectre and Retpoline variants and what nots. I wonder if macOS is smart enough to disable the CPU eating work arounds or not though when it's mitigated at cpu level.

New iMacs Now Available With 9th Gen Intel Core CPUs

It's just such a travesty when you can build an imac or macbook pro BTO on apple and quickly be over 4k for MID range. or do a custom build hack with that money and have an utter beast. The apple markup on things, especially storage, ram, cpu/gpu upgrades is unacceptable pricing when you know...

I'm actually thinking of using a patched F11 that's F11 version, but with updated microcode. you can find modified bios like this with some searching.
