The old card is the RX 570, the new one is a Radeon RX 6600 8GB that requires the boot-arg.
Thanks for spotting that error! Unfortunately correcting it has not had an effect on the instability.
Hello,
I have been running OC for a long time now and it's been working well for the most part. This weekend a my helpful daughter installed a Mac critical update. Since that update, I was complexity unable to boot whilst the PCIe graphics card was installed. Given everything worked when using...
Hello,
I've been trying to find out why my build fails at the 12-minute point during the installation of Monterey. This hardware used to work but this is a clean install as I experienced an SSD failure.
Once the installation has failed, it reboots into safe mode with prompts to enter BIOS. I...
The USB section of this DAC is made by a company called Savi. https://www.creekaudio.com/product-archive/ruby-2-dac/
I can normally connect it to any port without issue.
I thought this might be an issue with Power over USB as I know this DAC requires power in that way. However, following the steps on this page did not solve the problem: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/usb/misc/power.html
Thanks, I've completed the USB port config but I'm still left with the same problem. The DAC is not showing up under USB devices where it did under Catalina.
Hi,
Well, I'm pleased to say that I was successful in getting Monterey loaded. The installer crashed a few times however, everything areas to have installed correctly.
I'm left with a new problem. I run an external USB DAC for my audio. On every build I've made it works fine but for some...
Everything appears to be correct. The latest version of OC with all the updated kexts, drivers & ACPI shows the same error booting the instal drive as it does my working Catalina install.
Fully checked all BIOS settings, everything appears correct.
Today I surrendered and downloaded the working EFI of this install as the hardware is the same as mine. https://github.com/jdleung/OpenCore-Z370-P-II
I'm now able to boot my installation of Catalina that was originally installed...
I've updated the MB BIOS today and discovered its made no effect. I did notice however, the boot issues appears to be a little random. You'll see the boot fails at a slightly different place between these two boots.
I've also stripped out disabled entries in the config.plist and added...
Unfortunately, making those changes has not allowed the boot process to progress any further.
I have not updated my BIOS for some time as the clover setup I have been running worked perfectly. DO you think it's time to start looking at the available BIOS updates?
Thank you for your detailed response. I believe I've now addressed the issues you mentioned with the exception of the DeviceProperties/NVRAM as I could not find layout-id under the NVRAM section.
The Serial number I'm using here is not one I will be installing, it's only listed for development...
