Thats interesting. I didn’t try Yosemite yet, but Mavericks freezes on my built too from time to time totally unpredictable. Changing Bios Settings made it better, but it didn’t go away entirely. I only tried Clover from a Bootstick and that made no difference. Do you think it makes a difference...

Have you found a solution? The only way to get around the problem was to install the audio drivers from MultiBeast 6.2.2, but then I had some random freezes after waking from sleep. I hoped updating to Mavericks 10.9.4 would help with the updated drivers, but didn’t.
