Bump, I am having a similar issue with a 4770k on the new dual thunderbolt board. It goes to sleep as described above then the fans start up again and this continues. Uptime shows that no reboots have accrued.

I use my hackingtosh daily for final cut and after effects. It runs great on my system. I would strongly suggest if you do a lot of AE work to max the ram and don't go cheap, I have 24 gb and renders are a breeze even with a ton of particles.
