Just FYI the Kernel patch method is still working in 10.15.1 if you DO need digital audio.
I have also just updated AppleALC, LILU and WhateverGreen to latest versions and can report that the problem is also still there needing to be patched. It'd be great if the developers for AppleALC could...
After having completed all steps in post number 1, we can include a hot patch to enable correct sleep. Add the below patch to the Config.plist in EFI/Clover and add the attached file SSDT-GPRW into EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/Patched.
We also need to add the linked patchmatic file and iasl into /usr/bin...
Update to 10.15.1 without issue.
Since the first post I have also added a Kernel Patch to the config.plist - to overcome a KP on wake issue caused by AppleALC in Catalina with some Haswell systems. Issue is discussed here.
Thanks for this thread. Having exactly the same problem on my Catalina Haswell build. The Kernel Patch solution is the one I am using as, having tried the others - which result in a loss of audio functionality over HDMI - it seems the best compromise for the moment.
Hoping that a more elegant...
Thanks so much for this thread. It gave me the break through I needed to get DP out and HDMI out working on my Dell Optiplex 9030 All in One, Haswell system.
In this configuration system is stable and will hot plug between connectors fine.
Platform ID 0x0D220003

I am working on one of these also ( in Catalina Guides section). Only difference is you have the motherboard with the AMD graphics , where I am using integrated GPU at the moment. I do have a motherboard for the AMD type coming though.
Audio for me is working using ALC668 and layout 27. Alc668...
The Optiplex 9030 is a 23" All in One system based on Haswell processors.
It comes in two main different types: Integrated graphics type and a variation with AMD R7 A265.
This guide is just for the integrated graphics HD4600 and HD4400 version.
I cannot recommend this enough as a...
Just confirming that the clover rev 5045 is working fine. Also with updated kexts Catalina Public Beta runs fine too. Note though, I am using the previous version of the guide for this laptop as I saw no reason for me to change, so I am using the version that utilises FakeSMC.
I took a screen shot just as a side by side comparison from your photo of HW monitor compared to mine. You can see my system is running a lot cooler, but also at moment of screen capture my CPU multiplier is stepping correctly and not using too much CPU grunt (!). Maybe you are not getting...
Yes, I have done TMDS to HDMI breakout board modifications and there is no reason I can see why you should not be successful.
The biggest challenge with these type of mods is usually the wiring and actually fitting everything into the case. Good luck!
If you can boot your installation from USB ( under UEFI ) but you cannot install clover onto your hard disk then it sounds like you have a formatting issue ( maybe clover is failing because it cannot install to EFI ). Maybe best to read the dual booting guides and start again.
That really just adds an extra layer of complications in my view.........I prefer to get an installation going using a USB connected drive and make sure that works properly. I use a sata to USB bridge like this sort of thing. Once everything is running okay you can then refine the build.
