    Solved this I think, for any future person with a similar problem. I decided to just keep trying different boot flags. 'UseKernelCache=No" solved this...I'm not really sure if this could hurt anything else? But it has fixed the ethernet and pro tools problems for sure!

    I did solve it...but unfortuntately it was too long ago for me to remember HOW I solved it. I really just kept trying different boot flags I think, and wrote down which combinations I had tried, and just sat there trying like 50 combinations til one worked.
