This guy!!! Thanks @trs96. That worked. Im all good now - thanks again for the quick help and everything that you and @Sniki have done for the HP 8300 community.
@trs96 any ideas one where I should get started? I was previously on track with your Sierra and High Sierra guides and my rose will WiFi card worked fine, not sure if you know of where I should start looking to resolve. Sorry, I’m not great at this stuff.
@Sniki - Killer guide. Thanks for updating this. One thing I will add that may help others in the future - after the successful install, I hadn't copied all the kext/other files over to my EFI partition like I had for the USB...so mine wasn't booting properly until I did that.
One issue I am...
Seems like clover may have been updated a bit since this guide was originally posted - trying to follow this for my HP 8300, but in the step of setting up the USB drive, my Clover doesnt have a "EFI/Clover/Drivers64UEFI" directory, though it does have an "EFI/Clover/Drivers/UEFI/" directory. I...
Hey @trs96 - I just cloned my primary drive, but I assume nothing needs to be done for new patches? I saw 10.14.3 is out so I was going to let it install...didn’t know if there was something special that had to be redone with any of the tonymac tools
Did you check the sound settings (in OS X) for output device? If I remember correctly there are 2 output devices, and it defaulted me at first to the internal speaker
@trs96 serious thank you again for this guide. I just followed it again with Mojave install and Mojave’s versions of Unibeast And multibeast. Even the custom dsdt instructions for audio worked flawlessly...now I have a perfect Mojave’s build that even works with FaceTime and messaging. Thanks again
Re-made the USB. This time it will show up in clover as a boot option, but it will only boot into the mojave installer if I select verbose...otherwise it has a kernel panic. Im going to move forward hoping for the best...famous last words.
Maybe I'm a dumb - but I followed the instructions - yet when I boot into the USB drive and launch Clover - no boot options show up (this is at the initial install step)...not sure what I could have done wrong there. I'm going to try to re-do my USB drive again, but wanted to check to see if...
My 8300 has 22GB of RAM. I had ordered 16gb then got that new machine which came with 6 so I just threw it all together. I guess my thought was if I kept the gt 710 out of the 8300, I could leave it in the 6300 and have 2 full working hackintoshs (hackintoshi? Not sure what the plural is  )
Agreed. I was able to follow it for my first build, so ill just have to re-watch the video. One other obvious question I guess...what am I gaining by moving to HD4000 given I already have a GT710? Should I expect to see any meaningly performance difference between the two? I didnt really see...
I think I'm going to use the 6300 for a freenas server or sell it. I only paid $67 for the i5 6300 and got the 8300 for $120. I'll try the fresh install and do the sound again. Too bad we can get that alc221 added to multibeast
Correct. I first removed the GT 710, then plugged in a DP to HDMI adapter. I know the adapter/HD4000 works because I was able to boot into my windows drive with it and had no issues. I even installed HS on an extra HD (from scratch starting in the 8300) and it worked, I was just trying to get...
Hey @trs96
Had fun doing my first hp (6300 i5) last week, so I bought an 8300 i7 3770. That said, I was using a GT710 in the 6300, I wanted to use the HD4000 graphics on the i7 machine. I just took my drive out of the 6300 and put it in the 8300 - unfortunately its not booting like I'd...
